Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, had a telephone conversation today with Mr. Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia, at the request of the Australian side.
Mr Abbott thanked the PM for the warm reception and hospitality accorded to him during his recent visit to India. Prime Minister Modi said that during his visit, Prime Minister Abbott had touched the heart of every Indian. The visit had resulted in concrete outcomes and added new dimensions to the strategic partnership between India and Australia. Both the Prime Ministers agreed to actively follow up the decisions reached in the summit. Prime Minister Abbott conveyed that a warm welcome awaits Prime Minister Modi for his bilateral visit to Australia in November 2014 after the G-20 Summit.
Prime Minister Abbott conveyed sympathy and solidarity in connection with the floods in Jammu & Kashmir. Both Prime Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam highlighting the revered Bapu's emphasis on non-violence for the protection of humanity:
"अहिंसा परमो धर्मस्तथाऽहिंसा परन्तपः।
अहिंसा परमं सत्यं यतो धर्मः प्रवर्तते॥"
The Subhashitam conveys that, nonviolence is the highest duty, nonviolence is the highest penance. Nonviolence is the ultimate truth, from which all Dharma proceeds.
The Prime Minister wrote on X;
“पूज्य बापू ने मानवता की रक्षा के लिए हमेशा अहिंसा पर बल दिया। इसमें वह शक्ति है, जो बिना हथियार के दुनिया को बदल सकती है।
अहिंसा परमो धर्मस्तथाऽहिंसा परन्तपः।
अहिंसा परमं सत्यं यतो धर्मः प्रवर्तते॥"
