"We in India take immense pride in the contributions of Gurudev Tagore to our nation's history and culture. His emphasis on learning and education is also very motivating," PM said. Gurudev Tagore had visited Argentina in 1924 and had left a lasting impression on the minds of many people in this nation, especially scholars and students.

Members of the Indian community greeted the Prime Minister with enthusiastic chants of “Modi-Modi”, "Jai Hind" and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” creating an electrifying atmosphere. Community members also had the opportunity to interact with Prime Minister Modi, many of whom received autographs from the leader, adding a personal touch to the historic visit. "Distance is no barrier when it comes to cultural connect! Honoured by the gracious welcome from the Indian community in Buenos Aires. It is truly moving to see how, thousands of kilometres away from home, the spirit of India shines brightly through our Indian community." PM Modi said.

Argentina presents significant potential as a strategic energy partner for India. Its abundant reserves of critical minerals—such as lithium, copper, and rare earth elements—closely align with India's strategic priorities in securing sustainable and reliable resources. These materials are essential to support India’s clean energy transition, technological advancement, and long-term industrial growth.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm ceremonial welcome in Brasilia on Tuesday, becoming the first Indian PM in 57 years to undertake a State Visit to Brazil, strengthening the ties between the two nations. The visit marks not only expansion of India on the diplomatic front but also a reaffirmation of India as a pro-active builder of South-South solitude.

The State Visit presents a comprehensive opportunity to review the full spectrum of India-Brazil ties. The cooperation includes trade, investment, oil and gas, renewable energy, mining and ties. Key areas of cooperation include trade, investment, oil and gas, renewable energy, mining and critical minerals, defence, security, agriculture and livestock, healthcare and traditional medicine, tourism, space, science and technology, digital public infrastructure (DPI), sports, andpeople-to-people exchanges. Both the countries continueto coordinate closely in various international fora, including the UnitedNations, BRICS, the G20, IBSA, and the G4.

Lula and Modi reiterated their goal of boosting bilateral trade to over $20 billion annually by 2030, according to the Brazilian president's office, up from roughly $12 billion last year.Brasilia said they also agreed to expand the reach of the preferential trade agreement between India and the South American trade bloc Mercosur, and discussed the virtual payment platforms of their countries

Both of the dignitaries reviewed cooperation in the areas of digital collaboration, ICT, Digital Public Infrastructure and UPI, defence, railways, health and pharmaceuticals, agriculture, energy, culture and people-to-people linkages.

"Members of Brazil's Indian community gave a very vibrant welcome in Rio de Janeiro. It's amazing how they remain connected with Indian culture and are also very passionate about India's development! Here are some glimpses from the welcome," PM Modi wrote on X.

Since 2006, Brazil and India have maintained a strategic partnership and share convergent positions on central issues of the multilateral agenda, such as the fight against hunger, global governance reform and sustainable development. The rapprochement with India is also in line with the integration agenda defended by President Lula during the 66th MERCOSUR Summit.

"It is time for MERCOSUR to look at Asia, the dynamic center of the world economy. Our participation in global value chains will benefit from closer ties with Japan, China, Korea, India, Vietnam and Indonesia," said Lula in his speech at the Summit.
