Gems and jewellery sector's aim should not only be ‘Make in India’ but also 'Design in India': PM

Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today inaugurated the Diamond Manufacturing Unit of M/s Hare Krishna Exports Pvt Ltd in Surat. 

 

Recalling Sardar Patel’s rich contributions, the PM said, “If there was someone who had a clear vision about how India should be, it was Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He integrated India.”

 

 

 

The Prime Minister said Surat has made a mark in the diamond industry but there is now need to look at the entire gems and jewellery sector. He said that as far as the gems and jewellery sector is concerned, our aim should not only be ‘Make in India’ but also 'Design in India'.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has extended compliments to Speaker Om Birla Ji and MPs across Party lines for highlighting India’s cultural and linguistic diversity on the floor of the Parliament as regional-languages take precedence in Lok-Sabha addresses.

The Prime Minister posted on X:
