Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed his second major rally for the day in the constituency of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh where PM Modi reminisced about his old days in the city as an ordinary BJP Karyakarta and talked fondly about his memories associated with the place.
Addressing the huge crowd of enthusiastic supporters, PM Modi said, “The last five years have witnessed historic transformation of the country with the right government and the right policies in place that have not only led to rapid development of the nation but have greatly enhanced India’s reputation globally. Millions of ordinary Indians have seen their standards of living getting raised and their aspirations finding a voice in this government, which is why there is such a strong support for the clean governance model of the BJP.”
Focusing on the strengthening of national security as one of the pillars of his government policy, Prime Minister Modi underlined the importance of a responsive national security in ensuring the nation’s uninterrupted development and said, “I clearly remember how when our soldiers were attacked by terrorists in Pulwama this February, the people of Himachal were brimming with anger and a quest to strike terror at its epicenter. The same sentiment was prevailing across the nation and as a responsive government, we gave a free hand to our armed forces to strike against terrorists even if means crossing international boundary. The Congress shies away from discussing about national security and terrorism due to their votebank politics.
However, we believe in giving nation’s security the highest priority and strengthening it continuously.”
