Prime Minister Modi spoke how in the 1970s, senior Left leader Shri Jyoti Basu had expressed concern over political corruption and demonetization. Shri Modi noted how Shri Basu fought for the Wanchoo Committee report in the House for discussions. The Prime Minister further added that Shri Jyoti Basu, in his speech in the early 1970s had alleged then Congress government led by then PM Indira Gandhi of corruption and black money.
