Hon'ble CM pays tribute to Late Shyamaprasad Mookerjee

Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid today a tribute to Late Shyamaprasad Mookerjee in front of his oil painting at Vidhansabha podium, on his 109th birth anniversary.

Assembly speaker Shri Ashok Bhatt, BJP Area President R.C.Faladu, Cabinet Ministers Shri Narottam Patel, Shri Nitin Patel, Shri Amit Shah, Shri Jaysinh Chauhan, Chief Whip of ruling party Shri Pradipsinh Jadeja, MLAs Shri Kalyansinh Chauhan, Shri Atmaram Parmar, Shri Vallabh Kakadiya, Shri Mangaldas Patel, Shri Bhartsinh Barot, Assembly Office Bearers, GUDA Chairman Shri Ashok Bhavsar and senior officers and students of primary school of Handiya village of Balashinor taluka also paid tribute to this national leader.

Shri Shyamaprasad Mookerjee was born on 6th July, 1901 in Kolkata. He served as Chancellor of Kolkata University. He was elected as MLA and also served as Industries and Supply Minister in first cabinet of ministers of independent India. He was concerned about the issue of Kashmir. He went on a visit to Kashmir in 1953 but got arrested on the way. During incarceration he died in a hospital of Shrinagar on 23rd June, 1953.
