Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that those, whose hoax-shops got closed due to Government's directly reaching to poor through Garib Kalyan Mela, are throwing hurdles before this noble work but will not succeed as the work has a support of lakhs of poor.

Chief Minister and other Ministers today distributed assistance worth Rs.11.25-cr to about 6,302 poor beneficiaries under various welfare schemes, at the Taluka Garib Kalyan Mela held at Kathalal in Kheda district.

Shri Modi said that money in government exchequer is neither his nor of Central Government but of the people. Government is just acting as a postie ensuring that every rupee reaches to the doorstep of the poor.

During the first round of Garib Kalyan Mela, State Government empowered more than 21 lakh poor with the financial assistance worth Rs.2700-cr. 'Entire nation is talking about poor and poverty but nobody has led such a well-thought movement', he said.

Revenue Minister Smt.Anandiben Patel said the State Government has made about 1.42-lakh Sakhimandalas that are managing the fund of Rs.500-cr. This has made women come out of poverty and become financially stable.

Chaques summing Rs.1.91-lakh were donated to Chief Minister's Kanya Kelavani Nidhi, by various organizations and individuals, on the occasion.

Prominent among those who attended the fair included Parliamentary Secretary Shri Sundarsinh Chauhan, Chief Whip Shri Pradipsinh Jadeja, District Panchayat President Shri Rakesh Rav, MLAs and Office bearers of district and taluka panchayat.

Prime Minister shares a Sanskrit Subhashitam emphasising that well-ordered standards must guide human conduct
May 20, 2026

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam, noting that righteous conduct is like a lamp that illuminates not only an individual but the entire society. Shri Modi highlighted that adopting this very ideal, the people of our country are engaged in nation-building today with complete restraint, capability, and devotion to duty.

The Prime Minister posted on X:

The determination of what ought to be done and what ought not to be done should not rest upon subjective opinion or momentary impulse but upon a well-ordered standard grounded in the Śāstra, which imparts direction and discipline to conduct. Therefore, a person ought to act in accordance with that established system of standards, so that one's conduct becomes balanced, validated and meaningful.
