At a public meeting in Bijnor, Shri Narendra Modi said that it was only the NDA Government at Centre which thought of welfare for farmers and reduced costs of fertilizers. Shri Modi recalled, “When Chaudhary Charan Singh ji was there, he reduced cost of fertilizers. Inspired by him and giving farmer welfare utmost importance, we have undertaken the measure to reduce fertilizer costs. No other party had taken such a step.”
Shri Modi also added that a Chaudhary Charan Singh Kalyan Kosh, for welfare of farmers, would be created by the BJP Government in every district of Uttar Pradesh, if voted to power.
