Narendra Modi’s 4-day Japan visit a historical one that will further the strong relationship between Gujarat and Japan that has developed in the last decade.

Wide scale optimism generated from this visit on both sides.

Japan has partnered the Vibrant Gujarat Summits and is alsoa associated with DMIC project of which Gujarat is a major stakeholder and beneficiary.

Highest levels of Japan’s political and industrial leadership to engage with Shri Modi during his visit.

Like always, Shri Modi will meet Indian community based in Japan.

On the morning of 22nd July 2012, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi will fly to Japan on a 4-day visit. Invited by the Japanese Government, Shri Modi’s visit will be a historic one that will strengthen mutual ties between Gujarat and Japan.

This visit is yet another example of the warm ties Japan and Gujarat have shared over the past decade. It has been a partner nation for the last 2 Vibrant Gujarat biennial summits. Shri Modi had visited Japan in April 2007 in a visit that set the stage for a long lasting relation between Gujarat and Japan. In addition, Shri Modi has also met former Japanese PMs and delegations from Japan on various occasions.

This focus of his visit starting 22nd July is to improve both economic and as well as cultural relations between India’s fastest growing state and Japan. His 4-day visit will be a comprehensive one involving 44 programmes spread across 4 provinces during which he will interact with Japan’s top leaders, engage with the top business groups and even interact with India related forums based there.

Shri Modi will interact with the highest echelons of Japan’s political leadership. He will meet Japan’s Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Katsuya Okada in Tokyo. Just recently in January 2012, Mr. Okada had lauded Gujarat's growth story when he visited India.  He will also meet former Japanese Prime Ministers Mr. Shinzo Abe and Mr. Yasuo Fukuda. Mr. Abe had even met Shri Modi during his 2007 visit to Japan. In addition he will meet top Cabinet Minister including Japan’s Trade & Industry Minister Mr. Yukio Edano, Foreign Minister Mr. Koichiro Gemba and Land, Infrastructure, Transport, Tourism Minister Mr. Yuichiro Hata.

Understandably, a part of the visit will be spent in strengthening economic cooperation and this will include Shri Modi meeting some of the top figures in Japanese industry. This includes the Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and top executives of all major Japanese companies Sumitomo, IHI Corporation, BTMU, Mitsubishi Corporation, Hitachi & Itochu Corporation and Suzuki.

The Chief Minister will travel from Tokyo to Hamamatsu and then from Hamamatsu to Nagoya by Japan’s Bullet train thus having a first hand experience of the ride. He will also discuss Bullet Train projects on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai-Pune section and the Ahmedabad-Dholera Metro Train in addition to 2 Japanese industrial parks to be set up by Japan in Gujarat as a part of DMIC. Gujarat is both a major stakeholder and a beneficiary of the DMIC project apart from occupying the maximum land portion in this ambitious project. Shri Modi will also visit Bay Area of the Kobe port in context of the proposed Dholera SIR.

He will even share Gujarat’s experience in disaster management with Japan in the light of the quakes in Japan.

During all his travels overseas, something that Shri Modi particularly looks forward to is to engage with the Indian community based wherever he goes. This time too he would attend reception with the Indian and Gujarati communities in Japan and even interact with Indian engineers working with Suzuki Motors. Similar programmes would be held with the Indian Centre Foundation at Tokyo and a meeting with the Japan-India Parliamentarians’’ Friendship League.

A delegation of industrialists and Government officials will accompany Shri Modi in this trip.

This visit has generated tremendous optimism among the people across both sides. Japan’s leading business daily Nikkei covered Shri Modi’s visit in which it charts out Gujarat’s development under Shri Modi, who is described as an ‘investor friendly leader of India.’ Thus, it is truly a win-win situation for both Gujarat as well as Japan.

PM Modi addresses a vibrant crowd in Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur

We made the district mineral foundation... The BJP is working at the centre for the development of Jharkhand: PM Modi in Jamshedpur
I am confident that the people of Jharkhand will vote for the state's development, says PM Modi in Jamshedpur
The relationship between Jharkhand and the BJP is not just a political one. It is a bond of the heart, a relationship of belonging: PM Modi
The three biggest enemies of Jharkhand are JMM, RJD, and Congress, says PM Modi in Jamshedpur
Congress ruled the country from Delhi for so many decades but they did not let backwards, Adivasi and Dalits come forward: PM Modi

Jamshedpur, Jharkhand warmly welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a vibrant public rally. The PM said, "Amid the excitement of Karma Puja, I had the privilege of giving Jharkhand several major development gifts before coming here. Today, Jharkhand has received six new Vande Bharat trains. People in different cities across Jharkhand will now experience high-speed travel with modern amenities. It will also create opportunities for employment and progress for the youth."

Addressing the huge gathering, PM Modi said, "The relationship between Jharkhand and the BJP is not just a political one. It's a bond of the heart, a relationship of belonging. Jharkhand's dream is BJP's own dream. PM Modi asked, "Who fulfilled the dream of a separate Jharkhand? The BJP government! Who first focused on Jharkhand's backward districts with the Aspirational Districts Program? The BJP! Who launched Janjatiya Gaurav Divas on Birsa Munda's birth anniversary? The BJP! For decades, tribal youth were denied education—who ensured quality schooling for them? Who built over 400 Eklavya Residential Schools? The BJP! And who made a tribal woman the President of India? The BJP!"

While urging people to give the BJP a chance, PM Modi stated, “The BJP will leave no stone unturned for Jharkhand's development. Jharkhand has three biggest enemies—JMM, RJD, and Congress. RJD is still taking revenge on Jharkhand for its formation, and Congress outright despises Jharkhand. The Congress party ruled the country for decades, yet they never allowed the Dalit, backward, and tribal communities to progress."

Talking about infiltration - a major issue facing Jharkhand right now, the PM asserted, “Just a few days ago, the Jharkhand High Court ordered an independent panel to investigate this infiltration. However, the JMM government refuses to acknowledge that infiltration is happening in Jharkhand. Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltration poses a significant threat in Santhal Pargana and Kolhan. In Santhal Pargana, the tribal population is decreasing at an alarming rate. The lands of the local people are being seized. Infiltrators are taking control of panchayats and the system, and incidents of atrocities against daughters are rising. The truth is, the JMM is siding with these Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators.”

Lashing out at the ruling party, the PM iterated, “Those who play vote-bank politics are loyal to no one, and the JMM government's five-year term is proof of that. Today, the poor tribals of Jharkhand are asking: Was Champai Soren not a tribal? Did he not come from a poor family? Yet, the way he was humiliated and removed just to seize the Chief Minister's chair hurt every poor tribal in Jharkhand. Even Sita Soren, who is from their own family, was insulted and sidelined despite being a woman."

Coming down heavily on the JMM-Congress, PM Modi noted, "The most dishonest and corrupt party in this country is the Congress party. And the most corrupt family in the country is the Congress family where all streams of corruption originate. The JMM is trained in the same place—the Congress School of Corruption. In five years, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has done only one thing—loot and corruption in Jharkhand. The JMM government has brought corruption to everything—Jal, Jungle aur Jameen."

The PM also highlighted the rampant corruption, he said, “On one hand, the poor and the middle class living in the cities here sweat over every single rupee. On the other hand, hundreds of crores in cash are recovered from the residences of this government’s ministers and MPs, and from their servants' hideouts. There are scams worth thousands of crores. Remember how mountains of cash were found in Jharkhand? That was your money."

Furthermore, PM Modi stated that the opposition had promised to conduct JPSC and JSSC exams every year. However, rather than fulfilling this promise, job-selling gangs have prospered under government protection, and those involved in paper leaks are being shielded. “Congress promised to give ₹1 lakh each to youths and women. However, when women went to Congress offices to claim this money, they were met with humiliation. Wherever Congress governments are in power, such deceitful promises and falsehoods are prevalent,” he added.

Concluding his speech, the PM said, “I am confident that the people of Jharkhand will vote for the state's development. You will once again shower your blessings on the BJP."
