Shri Narendra Modi’s 3D interactions feature in the Guinness Book of World Records! The Guinness World Record for the most simultaneous broadcasts of the Pepper’s Ghost Illusion is now held by Raj Kasu Reddy and Mani Shankar of NChant 3D for bringing a live 55 minute electoral speech by Narendra Modi to 53 locations across Gujarat on 10th December 2012.

Just few months back, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi recorded a hat-trick by winning the third consecutive election in Gujarat. Shri Modi led charge of a whirlwind campaign, covering the length and breadth of Gujarat in a matter of weeks. On the campaign trail, Shri Modi left no stone unturned to relentlessly reach out to the common man and woman in every corner of the state. The last election campaign in Gujarat was very special because it marked a paradigm shift in the way technology was perceived and utilised in any election campaign in the history of India. Shri Narendra Modi, known as one of the most techno savvy Indian leaders, brought in a real game changer in the election arena in the form of 3D Holographic Projection technology. This is the first time such a technology was used anywhere in the world and it is a matter of immense pride that this happened in Gujarat!

It was on the evening of 18th November 2012 that Shri Narendra Modi first connected with people across 4 cities of Gujarat using the 3D technology. The interaction became an instant hit and people were awed by his inspiring speech. Later on, on 29th November 2012 Shri Modi addressed people across 26 places (covering 15 districts) using 3D projection technology. On 4th December 2012 he addressed people across 52 places through the medium. Yet again, a record number of people came out to extend solidarity with Shri Modi and the BJP.On 10th December 2012, he interacted with the people across a record number of 53 locations. He repeated this feat and addressed people across 53 places on 14th December.

During the course of these 3D gatherings, Narendra Modi addressed a wide variety of issues. He brought up the various development projects of the Gujarat Government to the notice of the people. He reminded the people how the Gujarat Government was steadfast in maintaining it’s resolve to fulfil the expectations of the people. He also reminded the people how vote bank politics was harming the interest of the nation. It was heartening to see people thronging to the 3D conferences of Narendra Modi. People relished the chance to hear and see Shri Narendra Modi even in his virtual avatar.

Shri Modi’s innovative usage of technology extended beyond thr 3D interaction during the campaign. In the run up to the Vidhan Sabha elections, Shri Modi’s all of Shri Modi’s speeches were shown LIVE on his website and on the TV channel NaMo Gujarat. Despite the punishing schedule, Shri Modi used Twitter every day to communicate with well wishers, share highlights of his speeches and attack the anti-people policies of the Congress Government at the Centre. All his campaign speeches were instantly available on You Tube for well wishers to see. Such innovative use of social media and technology has seldom been seen before in India.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s penchant for technology to help in governance is well known. He is a firm belief that usage of e-Governance is nothing but easy, effective and economic governance. In the recent National E-Governance Awards, Gujarat bagged a lions share by getting one-fourth of the awards. Additionally the Computer Society of India conferred him with the award and title of ‘eRatna’ for his contribution in the field of e-governance. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) initiatives at the Chief Ministers office won the ‘Award of Excellence- Departmental Level’ at the CSI Nihilent e-Governance Awards 2011. In addition, the eGov strategies and ICT enabled initiatives at the CMO were awarded the ‘Best Government to Citizen Initiative of the Year Award’ at the India Summit.
