Congress' priority to fill its coffers through corruption, says PM Modi in Chhattisgarh

Ahead of Chhattisgarh assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today congratulated the people of state for the newly unveiled BJP manifesto, which promises to transform their aspirations into reality. Addressing a public meeting in Chhattisgarh’s Durg, PM Modi said, “Within this manifesto, priority has been given to the women, youth, and farmers of Chhattisgarh. The BJP has a consistent track record of delivering on its promises.”

Unveiling a bundle of lies of Congress, PM Modi questioned, “What is the priority of Congress? Congress's priority is to fill its coffers with corruption. The priority of Congress is to distribute jobs to the favourites of its leaders and to exclude your children from jobs. In the PSC scam, this is what Congress did. Congress expelled your children and recruited its children.”

In a fresh dig at the Chhattisgarh government, PM Modi claimed that the state government is taking a "30% commission" on projects. The PM slammed the Congress over wrongdoing using a new slogan, "Tees taka kakka, Aapka kaam pakka".

He said that the Congress government of Chhattisgarh is not leaving any opportunity to loot the people of the state, which is why they have not even left the name of Mahadev.

Hitting out at the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, PM Modi said, “Recently, a huge amount of money was discovered in Raipur, which is believed to be linked to the Congress election campaign. Reports suggest that the money trail leads to the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, raising questions about his connection with the individuals involved in this alleged scam in Dubai. After all, why has the Chief Minister here become nervous after this money has been seized?.”

"Action will indeed be taken against those who looted Chhattisgarh. Account for every penny will be taken from them...I assure you once again after the BJP Government is formed in the state, such scams will be strictly investigated, and those who looted you will be sent to jail,” he further added.

PM Modi listed a series of scams committed by the state government. He said, “The corrupt government of Chhattisgarh has broken your trust by committing scams one after the other and has insulted Chhattisgarh Mahtari. PSC scam and Mahadev APP scam are already in the news. Furthermore, the report card of the Congress government reveals a multitude of additional scams, ranging from liquor and cement scams to rice and gothan scams. Congress has left no opportunity untapped to exploit Chhattisgarh.” The Prime Minister assured that, under the BJP government, such fraudulent activities will undergo rigorous investigation, and those who embezzle public funds will be prosecuted and imprisoned.

Addressing the huge rally in Durg, PM Modi stated, “I guarantee you, As soon as the BJP government is formed, lakhs of poor families of Chhattisgarh will get permanent houses quickly. The work of providing toilets to the poor should be done. The work of providing free gas connections to our poor sisters should be done. There should be supply of tap water to every house. After the formation of the BJP government, all such works will be expedited. And this is Modi's guarantee to our sisters and daughters of Chhattisgarh.”

In a significant declaration, Prime Minister Modi conveyed, "The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana is scheduled to conclude in December this year. However, I am pleased to announce that the BJP government is extending the initiative to provide free rations to the underprivileged for the next five years. This is Modi’s guarantee."

“The BJP government has made such arrangements that no matter where you go to any part of the country, you will continue to get free ration. That is why Modi has given you the facility of One Nation, One Ration Card,” he added.

The Prime Minister said, “The biggest beneficiaries of the guarantees that Modi is giving and fulfilling are our Dalit, OBC and tribal families. Congress did not give constitutional status to the OBC Commission. BJP did this work. Even in the quota available in medical colleges, Congress did not give OBC reservations. BJP also did this work.”

Prime Minister Modi rebuked the Congress party for engaging in caste-based politics and highlighted that the BJP has facilitated extensive representation for the Dalit and OBC communities in both Parliament and Assemblies. “The BJP government has the highest number of OBC ministers in the Union Cabinet. And what is Congress doing? Congress is abusing an OBC Prime Minister every now and then,” he said.

Condemning the grand old party for abusing the OBC community, PM Modi further said, “Congress should tell every OBC of the country why Congress is abusing the entire OBC community. If Modi is OBC, then what is the fault of the entire OBC castes in this? After all, why is Congress abusing the Sahu community of Chhattisgarh? Why is Congress calling the entire Sahu community thieves? I know that the OBC community of Chhattisgarh, the OBC community of the entire country, will never forgive such a Congress.”

In his concluding statement, PM Modi said, “Every vote you cast on the lotus flower will strengthen me for the development of Chhattisgarh. The lead given to every BJP candidate at every booth will give me strength. That's why you have to go door-to-door and take Modi's message to every home. ‘BJP ne banaya hai, BJP hi sanwaregi’, this is Modi’s guarantee.”

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi chaired the 51st meeting of PRAGATI, the ICT-enabled, multi-modal platform aimed at fostering Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, by seamlessly integrating efforts of the Central and State governments, at Seva Teerth, earlier today.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister reviewed seven critical infrastructure projects across the Railways, Power and Road sectors covering nine States worth around ₹30,000 crore. These projects, pivotal to economic growth and public welfare, were reviewed with a focus on timelines, inter-agency coordination, and timely issue resolution. Prime Minister also reviewed Ken Betwa Link Project and Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0.

While reviewing power sector projects, Prime Minister emphasized the need to accelerate rooftop solar adoption across urban areas, with a special focus on cities, residential clusters and public institutions. He underlined that rooftop solar should be taken up in mission mode to reduce electricity costs, improve energy security and promote clean energy at the household and community level.

While reviewing road and port connectivity projects, it was emphasised that Vadhavan Port should be developed as a model of port-led, multi-modal development, where every major mode of transport is seamlessly integrated to create a future-ready logistics ecosystem. The project should not be seen merely as a port, but as a national gateway connected through coastal shipping, inland waterways, dedicated freight corridors, high-speed rail connectivity, highways and airport linkages.

Prime Minister emphasised the need for effective implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 and underlined that the mission should move beyond infrastructure creation and ensure measurable outcomes through regular monitoring, citizen participation and convergence between various stakeholders. He asked States to expedite the completion of solid waste management-related infrastructure, including waste processing plants and GOBARdhan plants.

While reviewing Ken-Betwa River Inter-linking Project, Prime Minister observed that Ken-Betwa project should serve as a model for other States to resolve inter-State water issues through cooperation, timely clearances, technology-based monitoring and mission-mode execution. States were encouraged to identify similar opportunities where river-linking, water conservation, groundwater recharge and efficient irrigation can be taken up in an integrated manner to ensure long-term water security.

Prime Minister also underlined that the delay in the implementation of public projects leads not only to cost escalation but also deprives citizens of timely access to essential facilities and development benefits. He observed that every delay has a direct impact on people’s lives, regional growth and public resources. He stressed that Ministries, Departments and States must adopt a more proactive and time-bound approach to resolve pending issues, remove bottlenecks and ensure faster execution.

Prime Minister also emphasized that innovative use of canal networks should be explored, including installation of solar panels along canals and over canals for clean electricity generation. This would help optimize land use, reduce evaporation losses, generate renewable energy and create additional economic value from water infrastructure.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary informed that, in pursuance of the directions of the Prime Minister, a system of monthly review of social sector schemes at the State level has also been operationalised. This mechanism aims to ensure regular monitoring, faster resolution of implementation issues and greater accountability at the State and district levels. As part of this initiative, Swachh Bharat Mission has been taken up for review at the State level in the first instance.
