Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on the telephone to H.E. Mme. Park Geun-Hye, President of the Republic of Korea this afternoon. The call was initiated by the Korean side.
President Park congratulated Prime Minister Modi on his victory in the general elections. She recalled with appreciation Prime Minister’s association with Korea as Chief Minister of Gujarat and expressed confidence that the Strategic Partnership between our two countries will expand in all areas under his leadership.
President Park thanked India for its gift of a sapling of the sacred Bodhi tree and for the Visa-on-Arrival facility extended by India to Korean nationals following her visit to India in January 2014. She expressed support and appreciation for India’s role and standing in world affairs and in the international community.
Prime Minister Modi thanked President Park for her warm felicitations. He hoped to work together with President Park and her government for common interest and benefit of the two countries and the mankind. Prime Minister welcomed greater economic engagement between the two countries and hoped to achieve more substantive and all-round progress in our partnership in the years to come.
President Park invited Prime Minister Modi to pay an early visit to Korea. Prime Minister Modi accepted the invitation with pleasure.
