PM Modi recalls Swami Vivekananda's address to World Parliament of Religions in Chicago on September 11, 1893

PM Narendra Modi today paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks. The Prime Minister also recalled Swami Vivekananda’s address to the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago, on September 11th - in 1893. “11th September...two contrasting images come to the mind. Today we pray tributes to all those who lost their lives in gruesome 9/11 attacks. On this day in 1893, Swami Vivekananda delivered his historic speech in Chicago & won many hearts & mind. Swami Vivekananda's speech in Chicago demonstrated the strength of India's rich culture & the power of universal brotherhood and harmony”, said the PM in a series of tweets.

Prime Minister shares Sanskrit Subhashitam emphasising on the triumph of truth

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, paid homage to all the great personalities who participated in the Dandi March, which began on this very day in 1930.

The Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam emphasising on the triumph of truth:

“सत्यमेव जयति नानृतं सत्येन पन्था विततो देवयानः।

येनाक्रमन्त्यृषयो ह्याप्तकामा यत्र तत्सत्यस्य परमं निधानम्॥”

The Subhashitam conveys that, truth always prevails and falsehood is ultimately destroyed. Therefore, one should follow the path on which the Sages attained bliss and realised the supreme truth.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

“सन् 1930 में आज ही के दिन दांडी मार्च की शुरुआत हुई थी। इसमें शामिल सभी विभूतियों का श्रद्धापूर्वक स्मरण!

सत्यमेव जयति नानृतं सत्येन पन्था विततो देवयानः।

येनाक्रमन्त्यृषयो ह्याप्तकामा यत्र तत्सत्यस्य परमं निधानम्॥”
