પ્રધાનમંત્રીએ રાષ્ટ્રીય શિક્ષક પુરસ્કાર વિજેતાઓ સાથે વાતચીત કરી

પ્રધાનમંત્રી શ્રી નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ આજે શિક્ષક દિવસની પૂર્વસંધ્યાએ લોક કલ્યાણ માર્ગ પર સ્થિત પ્રધાનમંત્રી આવાસ પર રાષ્ટ્રીય શિક્ષક પુરસ્કાર, 2017નાં વિજેતાઓ સાથે વાતચીત કરી હતી. આ પ્રસંગે કેન્દ્રીય માનવ સંસાધન વિકાસ મંત્રી શ્રી પ્રકાશ જાવડેકર પણ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા હતા.
પ્રધાનમંત્રીએ દેશમાં શિક્ષણની ગુણવત્તાને સુધારવાની દિશામાં થયેલા ઉલ્લેખનીય પ્રયાસો માટે પુરસ્કૃત વિજેતાઓને અભિનંદન પાઠવ્યા હતા. તેમણે શિક્ષણ પ્રત્યે સમર્પણની સાથે-સાથે તેને જીવનમંત્ર બનાવવા માટે એમની પ્રશંસા કરી હતી. તેમણે કહ્યું હતું કે, એક શિક્ષક આજીવન જ્ઞાનની ધારા સાથે જોડાયેલો રહે છે.

પ્રધાનમંત્રી એ વાતચીત દરમિયાન પુરસ્કૃત વિજેતાઓ સાથે સમુદાયને એકજૂથ કરવા અને એમને સુવ્યવસ્થિત વિકાસને એક અભિન્ન અંગ બનાવવા વિનંતી કરી હતી. તેમણે શિક્ષકોને ખાસ કરીને ગરીબ અને ગ્રામીણ પૃષ્ઠભૂમિ ધરાવતાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓની અંદર રહેલી પ્રતિભાને નિખરાવની દિશામાં કામ કરવા માટે પ્રોત્સાહિત કર્યા હતા.

પ્રધાનમંત્રીએ કહ્યું હતું કે, શિક્ષાવિશારદોએ ગુરુ અને શિષ્યની પ્રાચીન પવિત્ર પરંપરાને ફરી સ્થાપિત કરવાની દિશામાં કામ કરવું જોઈએ, જેથી વિદ્યાર્થી સમુદાય આજીવન પોતાનાં શિક્ષકોને યાદ કરે. તેમણે શિક્ષકોને પોતાની શાળા અને એની આસપાસનાં વાતાવરણમાં ડિજિટલ પરિવર્તન લાવવા માટે પ્રોત્સાહન આપ્યું હતું.

પ્રધાનમંત્રી સાથે વાતચીત કરતાં પુરસ્કૃત વિજેતાઓએ પોતાની શાળાઓને શિક્ષણ અને ઉત્કૃષ્ટતા કેન્દ્રમાં પરિવર્તિત કરવા સાથે સંબંધિત પ્રેરણાસ્પદ વાતો સંભળાવી હતી. તેમણે નવી ઓનલાઇન પસંદગી પ્રક્રિયાની સાથે ડિજિટલ ઇન્ડિયા જેવી યોજનાઓ માટે પણ પ્રધાનમંત્રીનો આભાર માન્યો હતો, જે દેશભરમાં શાળાનાં શિક્ષણમાં વ્યાપક ગુણાત્મક પરિવર્તન લાવી રહી છે.

માનવ સંસાધન વિકાસ મંત્રાલયે આ વર્ષે રાષ્ટ્રીય પુરસ્કારો માટે શિક્ષકોની પસંદગી સાથે જોડાયેલાં સૂચનોમાં સંશોધન કર્યા હતાં. નવી યોજનામાં સ્વ-પસંદગીની કલ્પના કરવામાં આવી છે અને આ મુખ્ય રાષ્ટ્રીય પુરસ્કારોમાં આવેલી નવી પદ્ધતિથી પ્રેરિત છે. આ યોજના પારદર્શક અને નિષ્પક્ષ છે તથા તેની અંતર્ગત ઉત્કૃષ્ટતા અને શ્રેષ્ઠ પ્રદર્શન કરનાર શિક્ષકને પુરસ્કાર આપવામાં આવે છે.
