During Pariksha Pe Charcha, Assam’s Krishty Saikia got a chance to interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She raised an important point about generation gap among parents and their children.

She asked PM Modi, “Belonging to the new generation, we always want to reduce the generation gap between our parents and ourselves. How can we do it?”

Responding to her question, PM Modi urged parents to work towards reducing the generation gap between them and their children. “Connect with your children, learn about their likes and dislikes. Involving yourself in their world will reduce the generation gap, they will appreciate your point of view”, said PM Modi.

The PM remarked, “Remember, when your child was one year old, how did you talk to him? What kind of sounds did you make then to make him laugh? How you used to talk to him through facial expressions. Did you ever think if people see you doing this, what will they say? You enjoyed it at that time, so you did it. You did not care about anyone, that is, you left everything and became a child yourself.”
