While addressing the crowd at the fast venue Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi hailed the development work of the state. Further adding Gujarat has touched new hights of development in every aspect and sphere of life.

Modi stressed "Soon you will hear Gujarat model of communal harmony and it has set an example for other states to follow ".

Modi said “Across the world, people are talking about the progress of Gujarat.“

Amidst tight security,Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi began his three-day sadbhavana fast at Convocation Hall of Gujarat University to promote “peace, harmony and unity” of the state.

He said ,"In 2001 after the Gujarat earthquake, the nation never believed Gujarat will be able to stand up again . But within three years Gujarat has bounced back.” He added the state has overcome all setbacks to emerge stronger.

He said that nobody wanted to invest in Gujarat at the time. But within three years Gujarat not only got back to its feet but is also an example for the world.” He said Gujarat’s resilience has made it rise like a phoenix.

Elaborating about the progress of Gujarat, Modi said that people around the world are talking about the governance of the state .

Modi stressed the state wants to help all other states to achieve growth. In the past ten years there has been so much crime, but Gujarat never attacked anyone.

" People threw stones and I bore it all. I never let the stones reach you," he said. Talking about independence, Modi said that for the past sixty years India has been a victim to divide and rule policy.

However, he said, today the world is talking about good governance and added that his government’s path is of truth and peace, and it is this path and good governance that has led to the development of Gujarat, said Modi.

In 2008, there were serial blasts in Gujarat. The nation once again thought that Gujarat won’t survive. But the state showed to the world the power of peace and unity and resilience, he said.

However, he said, Gujarat has taken a growth lead. Everyone is living in peace and harmony. “We as a state have understood what brotherhood and resilience means.”

Gujarat is providing employment to people of other states ,Modi said.
