Addressing a massive Maha Garjana Rally in Mumbai on the afternoon of Sunday 22nd December, the NDA’s Prime Ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi gave the clarion call of VOTE INDIA to the people of the nation. Shri Modi affirmed that so far we have voted for parties but now the time has come when we have to vote for the nation. He said that “Dal Se Bada Desh Hota Hai” (the nation is bigger than any party) and that in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections the nation must not vote for any party but must vote for India! Shri Modi reaffirmed the commitment of the BJP to serving the poor of the nation and stated that for him, every poor person of India is a VIP. Reiterating that bad governance and votebank politics is the root cause of all problems, Shri Modi affirmed that nothing will change till we do not take the nation away from votebank politics and embrace the development agenda. He further noted, “BJP is committed to the Mantra of development and to the politics of development. Without development the welfare of the people is not possible.” Further elaborating, he pointed that before Independence Lokmanya Tilak said “Swaraj is my birthright” but not the people of India must say, “Surajya is my birthright.”

Launching a scathing attack against the anti-people policies of the Congress, Shri Narendra Modi said that till we do not understand the Congress Party we will not understand the problems the people face and the solution to these problems. “The root cause of our problems is Congress ruled governments. Solution to our problems is making India free from Congress,” avowed Shri Modi. He added, “This is the same land, the same Mumbai from where the call of Quit India was made and the British had to finally leave India. From the same land, let the call of a Congress Mukt Bharat (Congress Free India) come. Let the land that said Quit India say Congress Free India.”

Shri Modi accused the Congress of being immersed in votebank politics and a party that has learnt the art of divide and rule very well from the British. He shared that while Sardar Patel unified India, the Congress divided India and made brother fight with brother, villages fight with cities and even made the states fight over water. He pointed to the lack of good governance in Maharashtra, describing the Local Body Tax (LBT) as ‘Loot Baatne Ki Technique’ (a technique to share the loot). He questioned why there is so much corruption in the irrigation projects in Maharashtra. Similarly, he took on the Maharashtra Government for their refusal to act on the Adarsh scam report. Shri Modi also asked why are so many farmers committing suicide. He even took on the recent statements by the Congress Vice President on corruption, commenting that on one hand the Congress protects those in the Adarsh scam but on the other hand its leaders talk about corruption. “Congress says something, does something else,” he opined. Shri Modi recalled that with great fanfare the Centre announced separate budget for 90 districts with significant Muslim population but 3 years in Parliament the Centre admitted that not a penny had been spent on the districts.

He taunted the Congress on their silence over black money and their refusal to act in brining back black money, saying, “Under the guidance and leadership of Advani ji, all the BJP MPs signed letters that they do not have any money in Swiss Banks. Congress does not want to do that because they know that acting on black money in Swiss banks means the problems reaches their doorstep.” Contrasting this lacklustre attitude and performance of the Congress, Shri Modi praised the development work done by BJP Chief Ministers Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Dr. Raman Singh.

Shri Modi said that a youthful nation can achieve everything provided the focus is on the right areas. He took on the Central government for their lack of focus on skill development and added that the Congress party is not bothered about the youth of the nation. Shri Modi urged the Centre to allow the installation of gates on the Sardar Sarovar Dam as it can benefit Maharashtra, which would get free electricity worth crores. He took up the issue of INS Vikrant, saying that on one hand the Congress wants to break it while the Gujarat Government is collecting iron from all over India to build Statue of Unity. Shri Modi also gave an idea of a Film University to cater to the Human Resource Development potential associated with the film industry.

Shri Modi spoke about the strong bond between Gujarat and Maharashtra. He said that for the people of Gujarat, Mumbai is a second home and that Maharashtra is the elder brother of Gujarat.

BJP President Shri Rajnath Singh spoke on the occasion. He highlighted the issues of corruption and price rise and urged the people to create a Congress Mukt Maharashtra and a Congress Mukt Bharat Rashtra. Former BJP President Shri Nitin Gadkari, Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Shri Gopinath Munde, Shri Vinod Tawde, Shri Eknath Khadse, Shri Ashish Shelar, Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy spoke on the occasion. PM Modi sets tone for Assam polls with high-energy Gogamukh rally
April 01, 2026
Assam is world famous for its tea, but soon people will talk about its 'Chip' as well – ‘Chai bhi, Chip bhi’: PM Modi in Assam
Our double engine government understood people's pain, and in just 11 years we built five bridges on the Brahmaputra: PM Modi
The Assam election is about building a Viksit Bharat with a Viksit Assam. The hattrick of the BJP-NDA government is certain: PM Modi
You form the BJP government again and Assam will progress at an even faster pace. This is Modi’s guarantee: PM Modi in Gogamukh

Campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive public gathering in Gogamukh, marking his first rally in Assam after the announcement of polls. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with enthusiastic participation from youth, women and local communities, signaling strong momentum for the BJP-led NDA.

Opening his address with high energy, the Prime Minister said, “This is my first public meeting after the announcement of elections in Assam. The sea of people in front of me, the enthusiasm of the youth and the blessings of our mothers and sisters clearly show this time, a hat-trick is certain.” Echoing popular sentiment, he added, “Everyone is saying- ‘Aakou Ebaar… NDA Shorkar!’”

Invoking the spiritual and cultural heritage of Assam, PM Modi remarked, “I am fortunate to begin this campaign with the blessings of Lord Shiva at Ghughuli Dol and Donyi-Polo. I bow to Srimanta Sankardev and pay tribute to great sons of Assam like Lachit Borphukan and Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika.”

Highlighting the development trajectory under BJP governments, PM Modi said, “Under the leadership of Sarbananda Sonowal and now Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam has witnessed a new era of service and good governance over the past decade.” He emphasized that the election is not just about forming a government but about building a ‘Viksit Assam for a Viksit Bharat.’

Referring to the BJP’s recently released manifesto, he noted, “This ‘Sankalp Patra’ is truly a ‘Mangal Patra’- it brings prosperity for Assam. It lays out a clear roadmap for jobs, self-employment and ₹5 lakh crore investment in infrastructure.”

On women empowerment, he said, “Through the Lakhpati Didi initiative, nearly 3 lakh women in Assam have already become financially independent. Now, we aim to empower 40 lakh women.”

Emphasizing farmers’ welfare, PM Modi said that over ₹7,500 crore has been transferred to 20 lakh farmers under PM-KISAN. He added, “Small farmers will now receive an additional ₹11,000 annually. Our government is also committed to permanent solutions for Assam’s flood problem.”

Contrasting past and present, the PM reiterated, “The youth of today have only seen BJP’s governance. They have not witnessed the dark days of Congress rule when Assam was known for violence, curfews and unrest.”

He added that Assam is now defined by development, citing examples such as refinery expansion, bamboo-based bio-refinery projects, and upcoming semiconductor manufacturing. “Soon, Assam will be known not just for tea, but also for chips. ‘Chai bhi, Chip bhi’-this is our roadmap for a Viksit Assam.”

Targeting the opposition, PM Modi said, “For Congress, power and family come first. They ignored Assam’s development for decades.” He also warned against divisive politics, alleging that Congress is attempting to revive policies of appeasement.

Coming down heavily on Congress, PM Modi said, “The people of Assam have freed the state from Congress’s misgovernance, but must remain vigilant as the party is now attempting to push a ‘dangerous agenda’ for political gain.” He recalled that before 2014, the Congress-led government had tried to introduce a divisive communal violence law aimed at appeasement, which was stopped by the BJP-NDA. He alleged that Congress is once again proposing a similar approach in Assam, exposing its intent to divide society for votes.

The Prime Minister further accused Congress of supporting infiltration and previously allowing illegal encroachments on farmers’ and tribal lands. He asserted that while the BJP-NDA government is taking strict action against such encroachments, Congress is opposing these efforts. Warning that Congress seeks to alter Assam’s demographic balance, he assured that the BJP-NDA government will continue to protect the land, rights and identity of Assam’s people, calling it ‘Modi’s guarantee.’

Highlighting infrastructure growth, the PM pointed out that while only three bridges were built over the Brahmaputra in decades of Congress rule, the BJP government has completed five major bridges in just over a decade, with more underway.

Reaffirming commitment to tribal welfare, PM Modi said, “Our mantra is ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. Those left behind will be brought forward.” He highlighted initiatives for the Missing community, including education in native language and youth employment programs.

Concluding his address, PM Modi urged voters to ensure a record turnout. “On April 9, all voting records must be broken. Every BJP-NDA candidate is a soldier of Assam’s development. Make them victorious.” He ended with a strong assurance: “You form the BJP government again and Assam will progress at an even faster pace. This is Modi’s guarantee.”
