On Friday 4th January 2013 Shri Narendra Modi will address the inaugural function of ‘Sparkle International 2013’, which is a gems and jewelry exhibition organized by the Government of Gujarat, in Surat.

The programme will commence at 10 AM and will be held at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The event has been jointly organized by the Gujarat Government and the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Sparkle International is one of the many events in the run up to the 2013 Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit.

Prime Minister extends greetings to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his 90th birthday

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi extended warm greetings to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the occasion of his 90th birthday. Shri Modi said that His Holiness the Dalai Lama has been an enduring symbol of love, compassion, patience and moral discipline. His message has inspired respect and admiration across all faiths, Shri Modi further added.

In a message on X, the Prime Minister said;

"I join 1.4 billion Indians in extending our warmest wishes to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his 90th birthday. He has been an enduring symbol of love, compassion, patience and moral discipline. His message has inspired respect and admiration across all faiths. We pray for his continued good health and long life.
