PM Modi inaugurated India International Exchange in Gandhinagar. Speaking at the event PM Modi said that the International Stock Exchange will be an important milestone for the 21st century. PM Modi said will work 22 hours every day "starting when Japan's markets open and ending when US markets close." The exchange has been created to spearhead India's push to attract more foreign investment and will trade a range of financial instruments, including equities, commodities and currency.

The Prime Minister noted that GIFT City was making a strong mark as a hub of commerce and technology. "GIFT City celebrates both wealth and wisdom," he remarked.
