At the invitation of New Zealand PM Christopher Luxon, PM Modi visited New Zealand on 10 and 11 July 2026, where he received a traditional Māori ceremonial welcome. He held discussions with PM Luxon and elevated bilateral ties to a Strategic Partnership. The two Prime Ministers participated in a Gala luncheon and attended a community event with the Indian diaspora.
