Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received a telephone call from US President, Mr. Barack Obama, on Tuesday, 8th December 2015. The Prime Minister conveyed his condolences to President Obama on the loss of lives in the recent shooting incident in California.

The conversation focused on the ongoing Conference of Parties (CoP21) in Paris. Both leaders underscored their strong commitment to address issues related to Climate Change being discussed in the Paris conference through constructive engagement, without impeding the progress of developing countries. They agreed to stay in regular touch.

Prime Minister expresses happiness on the launch of India's first hydrogen train

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam underlining the importance of dedication and determined effort in accomplishing every goal:

"प्रभूतं कार्यमल्पं वा यन्नरः कर्तुमिच्छति।

सर्वारम्भेण तत् कार्यं सिंहादेकं प्रचक्षते।।"

The Prime Minister also said that the dream of India receiving its first hydrogen train has become a reality, marking a significant milestone in the nation's efforts to build a clean, green and future-ready transport system. He congratulated everyone associated with this remarkable achievement.

The Prime Minister posted on X:

आज भारत को पहली हाइड्रोजन ट्रेन मिलने का सपना साकार होने जा रहा है। यह आत्मनिर्भर भारत और सतत विकास की दिशा में एक बहुत बड़ा दिन है। मैं इससे जुड़े सभी लोगों को बहुत बधाई देता हूं।
