Addressing his first virtual rally in Punjab's Fatehgarh Sahib and Ludhiana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, “Some people will always be seen opposing the Sikh tradition, BJP always stood with Sikh tradition. For some people, Punjab has only been a means of power, for us, it has been a medium of Guru tradition, a medium of service and hospitality for Punjabis. BJP's goal is to create a 'Nawa Punjab'. We have the vision and a track record of work.”
“Today there is BJP and NDA on one side whose target is ‘Nawa Punjab’. History has witnessed that the strength of Punjab has been strengthening the country. I especially want to say to the mothers, sisters and daughters of Punjab that the problem of drug addiction has destroyed you and your family, due to which you are troubled, from which you want to liberate Punjab, from which you want to keep your children away. People who made various speeches regarding drugs did not help you but took this disease to the people of Delhi. Punjab has to be very careful with such people.”
"We have taken a vow to develop border areas... We will also seize drugs being smuggled and ensure a brighter future for the state," added PM Modi.
Promising incentives, PM Modi asserted that there would be a "One District, One Product" scheme that will help with industrial development. "Congress is not capable of coming up with development policies for the state," said the PM.
PM Modi urged the people of Punjab to vote for the BJP to opt for a brighter future, and development. He said, “l will visit Punjab soon once EC relaxes curbs. We will work towards realizing the goal of 'Nawa Punjab', said PM Modi as he concluded his speech.
