One-day visit by the Indian Prime Minister to the land of spiritual neighbour opened up broad avenues of partnership and cooperation between both the Nations.

The tour was historic as Shri Narendra Modi became the first Indian Prime Minister ever to land on Mongolian soil. The friendship between the two nations reached new heights with PM Modi meeting President Mr. Elbegdorj Tsakhia and discussing upon ways for strengthening India-Mongolia ties. The Prime Minister presented him a specially commissioned reproduction of a rare 13th century manuscript on the history of Mongols. In return, President of Mongolia also presented Shri Modi with a unique gift.

Numerous pacts were inked between both the Nations in the presence of PM Modi and PM Chimed Saikhanbileg for advancing peace, stability and prosperity in the region. The agreements covered economic relations, development partnership, security as well as people to people partnerships.
