Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed huge public meetings in Maharajganj and Deoria in Uttar Pradesh today. During his address Shri Modi thanked the people of Uttar Pradesh for their love and support during the first five phases of elections. “People of Uttar Pradesh, in the last 5 phases have ushred in immense faith in the BJP. Urge voters to support us in the remaining phases,” he said. 

PM Modi emphasized that this election is a fight for Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, it is a fight for the rights of the poor fights against crime and corruption and a fight for equal opportunities for all without any discrimination. “This election is about freeing Uttar Pradesh from the misrule of SP, BSP & Congress,” he further added. 

PM Modi attacked the Samajwadi Government and said that while the UP CM is claiming that the he has done a lot of work in Uttar Pradesh but in reality, no development is visible. 

PM mentioned that according to the recent data India is still the fastest growing economy in the world. India Grew at 7% despite demonetisation in the third quarter in 2016-17. He further said that the hard work of the 125 billion people has muted the claims of Harvard economists.

Attacking the SP-Cong alliance in the state PM Modi said, “They (Congress) earlier used to blame the SP government but now both have allied before the elections. Why is it so?” The PM further added that Congress, SP and BSP parties must stop playing with the future of the people of Uttar Pradesh in the name of family, caste and nepotism. 

Taking a dig at Congress Party, PM Modi said, “A young leader from Congress campaigned in Manipur & said would sell coconut 'juice'. How is it even possible to extract juice from it?” 

PM Modi remarked that poor have a right to roof over their heads and the Government at the centre is committed to achieve this dream. “When India celebrates 75th year of independence, every countrymen must have their own homes. We are taking initiatives in that direction,” he said. 

Shri Modi opined that in order to develop UP needs a stable Government. He said, “We want to fulfil aspirations of the poor. We want to uplift them without discriminating anyone on the grounds of caste or religion.” 

 Shri Modi attacked the present Samajwadi government and said that they are not doing anything for the people of the Uttar Pradesh. He added that the Government at the center had released fund for electrification of the villages but the Samajwadi Government at the state could not spend that money on electrification. “We have taken up the work of electrifying rural India in mission mode. Over 1300 villages have been electrified in UP itself,” he said.

He said that the present Samajwadi Government is aware of the present conditions of eastern UP but is not interested in its development at all. “India will touch skies of development only when Eastern India prospers. We are emphasizing development in Eastern Uttar Pradesh,” added the PM. 

He took a dig at the present Samajwadi government and said that it is interested in development of Safai only. 

PM mentioned that government at the center is building a pipeline from Kandla, Gujarat to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh which will boost industrial development in the state. 

Prime Minister Modi mentioned that welfare of farmers was of utmost importance for the Government. He said, “We are continuously undertaking welfare measures for farmers. We want them to prosper. We'd waive off their loans, if we come to power.” 

Shri Modi opined that we want to work for the empowerment of poor and said, “We want our rural India to be smoke-free. We want them to have access to clean fuel. We are providing them LPG connections.” He further added that the Government has distributed about 21 crore LED till now. 

Shri Modi spoke at length about neem coating of urea and how it had benefitted several farmers. “Earlier there used to be theft & blackmarketing of urea. We neem coated of urea & now it benefits only farmers. This stopped corruption,” he added.

Shri Modi said that the BJP was committed to work for welfare of the poor. The Prime Minister noted that the Centre had reduced stent prices which would directly benefit people as cost of treatment would come down. “Our Government is for the poor. We are working for their welfare and that is why we have reduced stent prices considerably,” added PM Modi.  He also added that his Government has reduced prices of life saving medicines so that poor can also afford it. 

The PM expressed concern about the law and order situation in the state and said and said the policemen do not register any case until they are bribed. Police Stations have become offices of Samajwadi party and the people of Uttar Pradesh are not safe he further added. He said, "We would improve the law and order situation once we come to power in the state."  

Shri Modi urged people to change the government for inclusive development of Uttar Pradesh and to vote for the BJP. 

Several party karyakartas were also present at the public meeting.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi chaired the Semiconductor Executives’ Roundtable at his residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg earlier today.

During the meeting, Prime Minister said that their ideas will not only shape their business but also India’s future. Mentioning that the coming time will be technology driven, Prime Minister said semiconductor is the basis of the Digital Age and the day is not far when the semiconductor industry will be the bedrock for even our basic necessities.

Prime Minister emphasised that democracy and technology together can ensure the welfare of humanity and India is moving ahead on this path recognizing its global responsibility in the semiconductor sector.

Prime Minister talked about the pillars of development which include developing social, digital and physical infrastructure, giving boost to inclusive development, reducing compliance burden and attracting investment in manufacturing and innovations. He underscored that India has the capability to become a trusted partner in a diversified semiconductor supply chain.

Prime Minister talked about India’s talent pool and the immense focus of the government on skilling to ensure that trained workforce is available for the industry. He said that India’s focus is to develop products which are globally competitive. He highlighted that India is a great market for investing in hi-tech infrastructure and said the excitement shared by the leaders of the semiconductor sector today will motivate the government to work harder for this sector.

Prime Minister assured the leaders that the Indian government will follow a predictable and stable policy regime. With the focus of Make In India and Make for the World, Prime Minister said that the government will continue to support the industry at every step.

The CEOs appreciated India’s commitment to the growth of the semiconductor sector and said that what has transpired today is unprecedented wherein leaders of the entire semiconductor sector have been brought under one roof. They talked about the immense growth and future scope of the semiconductor industry. They said the centre of gravity of the semiconductor industry is starting to shift towards India, adding that the country now has a suitable environment for the industry which has put India on the global map in the semiconductor sector. Expressing their belief that what is good for India will be good for the world, they said India has amazing potential to become a global power house in raw materials in the semiconductor sector.

Appreciating the business friendly environment in India, they said that in the world of complex geopolitical situation, India is stable. Mentioning their immense belief in India’s potential, they said there is unanimous consensus in the industry that India is the place to invest. They recalled the encouragement given by the Prime Minister in the past as well and said the enormous opportunities present in India today were never seen earlier and they are proud to partner with India.

The meeting was attended by CEOs, Heads and representatives of various organisations including SEMI, Micron, NXP, PSMC, IMEC, Renesas, TEPL, Tokyo Electron Ltd, Tower, Synopsys, Cadence, Rapidus, Jacobs, JSR, Infineon, Advantest, Teradyne, Applied Materials, Lam Research, Merck, CG Power and Kaynes Technology. Also present in the meeting were Professors from Stanford University, University of California San Diego and IIT Bhubaneswar.
