ভারত – ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়ন নেতৃবৃন্দের বৈঠক (৮ই মে, ২০২১)

ইউরোপীয়ান কাউন্সিলের সভাপতি মি. চার্লস মিশেলের আমন্ত্রণে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শ্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী, বিশেষ আমন্ত্রিত হিসেবে ৮ই মে ইউরোপীয়ান কাউন্সিলের বৈঠকে যোগ দেবেন। পর্তুগালের প্রধানমন্ত্রী মি. আন্তোনিয় কোস্তা, ভারত – ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়ন নেতৃবৃন্দের বৈঠকের আয়োজন করেছেন। পর্তুগাল বর্তমানে ইউরোপীয়ান ইউনিয়নের পরিষদের সভাপতিত্ব করছে।  
প্রধানমন্ত্রী ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়নের ২৭টি রাষ্ট্রের সরকার প্রধান অথবা রাষ্ট্রপ্রধানের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করবেন। ইউ+২৭ এর আগে মাত্র এক বার মিলিত হয়েছিল – এবছরের মার্চ মাসে মার্কিন রাষ্ট্রপতির সঙ্গে এই বৈঠক অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। কোভিড – ১৯ মহামারী এবং স্বাস্থ্য পরিষেবায় সহযোগিতা, স্থিতিশীল ও সমন্বিত উন্নয়ন নিশ্চিত করা, ভারত – ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়ন, অর্থনৈতিক অংশীদারিত্ব এবং পারস্পরিক স্বার্থ সংশ্লিষ্ট আঞ্চলিক ও আন্তর্জাতিক বিভিন্ন বিষয় নিয়ে নেতৃবৃন্দ মতামত আদান – প্রদান করবেন। 
ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়নের সদস্য রাষ্ট্রগুলির নেতৃবৃন্দের সঙ্গে আলোচনার একটি অভূতপূর্ব সুযোগ ভারত – ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়ন নেতৃবৃন্দের বৈঠকে হবে। এটি রাজনৈতিকভাবে অত্যন্ত তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ। ২০২০র জুলাই মাসে পঞ্চদশ ভারত – ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়ন শীর্ষ সম্মেলন থেকে যে সম্পর্ক গড়ে উঠেছিল, এই বৈঠকে সেই উদ্যোগ আরো গতি পাবে।

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi congratulated Abelardo de la Espriella on his victory in the Colombian presidential elections.

The Prime Minister noted that India deeply values its close friendship with Colombia which continues to grow in all areas. “I convey my best wishes for a successful tenure and look forward to working together to further deepen our bilateral relations in the years ahead”, Shri Modi added.

Shri Modi posted on X;

Heartiest congratulations, Abelardo de la Espriella, on your victory in the Colombian presidential elections.

India values its close friendship with Colombia which continues to grow in all areas. I convey my best wishes for a successful tenure and look forward to working together to further deepen our bilateral relations in the years ahead.
