Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi while launching ‘Swarnim Gujarat Mahotsav’ at Nagpur on Friday, reaffirms that Sardar Patel’s tallest staute – ‘Statue of Unity’, to be built near Sardar Sarovar dam, will take shape with the contribution of people.

Swarnim Gujarat Mahotsav is arranged by Gujarati Samaj in Nagpur. The three-day celebration will see a participation from Gujarati Samaj of various parts of Vidarbh-Maharashtra.

Chief Minister, speaking both in Marathi and Gujarati, said that Gujarat birthed with the separation of bilingual Mumbai state and was a vulnerable entity at the time of its formation, but just in fifty years of time it is scaling new heights of growth. Once a barren land, the state is taking lead in agriculture and provides uninterrupted power supply to all its villages, he said.

He said that Gujarat is seeing all the three colors of tricolor on its land, as it begun with white revolution through milk sector, a green revolution through strides in agriculture sector and is geared up to bring saffron revolution with use of solar energy in power production.

Families of Gujarati Samaj in Vidarbha-Nagpur were present on the occasion.
