The ceremony was attended by the university students and their parents, forensic experts from all over the country, DFS officials, senior police officials and eminent citizens of the city.

Justice Radhakrishan congratulated DFS for the achievement and stressed upon their role in judiciary. "The paradigm of crime and crime detection has undergone drastic changes in the last decade. Today, internet has reached far and wide, resulting in its misuse. Forensic science has attained the status of a backbone for the judiciary," he said. He also stressed on the need for better crime scene management and forensic expertise for higher conviction rate.

Narendra Modi said, "The world is changing fast. Today, forensic investigators are not only required for crime detection but for many other purposes. Psychological profiling is the buzz word in the corporate sector which uses this technique for employing any senior official," he said. He added that nanotechnology holds the potential to become the future of forensic science.
