PM Modi expresses readiness on the part of India to further strengthen bilateral relations with Iran

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today received the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Ali Tayyebnia, who is visiting India for the bilateral Joint Commission meeting co-chaired by EAM.

Prime Minister conveyed that India attached high importance to its relations with Iran. He recalled his fruitful meeting with President Rouhani in Ufa, on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, in July 2015. Prime Minister expressed readiness on the part of India to further strengthen bilateral relations, including in the areas of trade, investment, oil and gas, connectivity, port development.

Prime Minister greets President of the United States on the 250th anniversary of the United States' independence

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, extended greetings to the President of the United States, Mr. Donald J. Trump, and the people of the United States on the historic occasion of the 250th anniversary of the country's independence. Shri Modi underscored the enduring strength of the India–United States partnership. He noted that the relationship between the two democracies extends beyond a strategic partnership and is anchored in shared values of democracy, the rule of law and faith in the limitless potential of their people.
