The 1.25 Lakh Sakhi-Mandals to undertake economic and saving activities

Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi has expressed his firm commitment to strengthen the base of Sakhi Mandals in the State. Sakhi Mandals are taking up economic activates, it may not only offer the economic benefits, but also get them free from the grip of private money lenders, who are charging heavy interests.

Around 15 lakh women are currently active under 1.25 Sakhi Mandals in the State; they administer the fund of Rs. 400 Crores, under the State Government Scheme, through Bank Linkage. In the coming days, State wants to enhance the funding; Chief Minister envisioned the fund of Rs.1000 Crores being administered by them. He was addressing the Garib Kalyan Mela at Dehgam today.

Tool-kits and aids worth Rs. 50.25 Crores were distributed to 31309 beneficiaries at the hands of Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi, eminent Parliamentarian of BJP party Shri L.K.Advanijee, and other Ministers.

It is not the election season in Gujarat. We don’t bother about the political nitty-gritty, though we may be immature in the political games, but the welfare of the poor is of paramount importance to us. We are fully alive to the rights of the poor people, added C.M.

For the last fifty years, many schemes were formulated, budgets of crores of rupees were spent, but it could not eradicate poverty. Chief Minister regretted the miserable failure of past system.

Chief Minister outlined the theme and objective of the Garib Kalyan Mela Abhiyan. It is aimed to impinged hard on the mediators; it would destroy the network of mediators. Garib Kalyan Mela ensures that the intended benefit reaches in the hands of right beneficiary, without any chance of corruption.

Chief Minister said that the Union Government is not taking effective measures to check the price-rise and inflation. He warned that, if quantifying actions are not taken to check racketeering prices; it would shake the foundations of Central Government.

Eminent leader and senior Parliamentarian, Shri L.K.Advani lauded that the Garib Kalyan Mela Abhiyan is aimed to eradicate poverty. It is truly a Seva Yagna, which takes up the cause of the welfare of poor and deprived classes in the right earnest. He identifies the three major problems faced by our nation; they are poverty, exorbitant price-rise and lacking the safety and security. Under the leadership of Shri Narendrabhai Modi, by implementing the benchmarks of Good Governance, Gujarat has provided best example to the nation. Good Governance matters, it has shown that how best it can serve, how best it can deliver.

Gujarat sets the trend in nation, by successfully implementing the Jyotigram Yojana; it seeks to illuminate 18000 villages with development and progress. He cited various examples highlighting brilliant success of State Government. Narmada water has reached up to many districts, also flowing in the other rivers, said Shri Advanijee.

He gave compliments to Shri Narendrabhai Modi and his Government for the Kalyan Yatra, also for taking up the Garib Kalyan Mela Abhiyan. State Ministers Smt. Anandiben Patel, Shri Nitinbhai Patel, Shri Fakirbhai Vaghela Shri Ramanlal Vora and Shri Parbatbhai Patel also addressed the Garib Kalyan Mela.

Dehgam MLA, Shri Kalyansinh Chauhan delivered welcome address.

On this occasion, beneficiaries of School Health Check-up Programme had presented their feed-back and candid views before the audience. State Ministers Shri Jaynarayan Vyas, Shri Jashvantsinh Bhabhor, Shri Jaysinh Chauhan, Parliamentary Secretaries, eminent leaders were among the others who attended the function.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi praised Women's Squash Team on winning Bronze Medal in Asian Games. Shri Modi congratulated Dipika Pallikal, Joshna Chinappa, Anahat Singh and Tanvi for this achievement.
