Prime Minister Narendra Modi today; addressed public meetings at Sundar Nagar and Solan in Himachal Pradesh.

PM Modi started his address at Sundar Nagar by highlighting his promise to the people of Mandi that he would address the first election rally from Mandi itself. PM Modi said that due to the extreme weather, he could not visit the people of Mandi in person earlier.

PM Modi paid tributes to Shyam Saran Negi Ji, the first voter of independent India who had voted more than 30 times in his life. Pointing out the importance of the current Himachal elections in the next 25 years of development, PM Modi said, “When India will celebrate 100 years of its independence, Himachal will also complete 100 years of its establishment. In these years of Amritkal, rapid development is necessary for Himachal, and stable government is necessary.”

Hitting out at the opposition, PM Modi said, “Congress always thought that what is the stature of that state from where 3-4 MPs come. Because of this thinking, Congress never gave priority to the development of Himachal”. Furthermore, PM Modi added that whatever development the BJP government has tried to bring to Himachal was stopped as soon as Congress came back to power.

PM Modi highlighted the stark difference between the Congress and the BJP-led government. PM Modi said that for over 50 years Congress has been promising to remove poverty from India by raising ‘Gareebi Hatao’ slogans, but to no avail, nothing happened. PM Modi further added, “Making false promises, giving false guarantees has been an old trick of Congress”. PM Modi highlighted the promises that the BJP has fulfilled that it gave during the elections and talked about the abrogation of Article 370 and the building of a Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

PM Modi slammed Congress for delaying ‘One Rank, One Pension’ for over 40 years. PM Modi said that it is the BJP government that brought ‘One Rank, One Pension’ and spent rupees 60 thousand crores on it. PM Modi added that had Congress would’ve been in power, they would have looted these funds as well.

Talking about how Congress has tried to stop the development work in Himachal, PM Modi gave an example and said, “Between 2014 and 2017, when the Congress government was in power, only 15 houses were completed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban…..Only 15 houses…and as soon as you people gave the government of double engine to Himachal, then work on 10 thousand houses was started rapidly. Out of these, more than 8 thousand houses have also been completed.”

PM Modi also talked about the management of the COVID-19 pandemic under the double-engine government. PM Modi said, “Himachal was the first in the country to achieve the target of 100% vaccination under the BJP government”. PM Modi further added that given Congress’ history, Himachal would be the last to get the vaccines and would’ve looted the ration sent for the poor as well.

PM Modi talked about how Himachal has progressed under the double-engine government. PM Modi said that had it not been for the BJP government, Himachal would’ve never gotten 9 lakh tap water connections, 4 lakh people would not have got free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Atal Tunnel would have never been completed.

PM Modi finally addressed the people of Sundar Nagar on how the double-engine government will increase the pace of development in Himachal once it is elected back to power. PM Modi made people realise the true value of the votes of people and urged them to vote for the development of Himachal

PM Modi in his second address at Solan, started by highlighting his deep connection with the state of Himachal. PM Modi reminisced about his days in Solan and Shimla, and told people how Himachal has always been on his mind. PM Modi further highlighted that he has been taking the handicrafts of Himachal to an international level.

Talking about how India has come out of an era of unstable governments, PM Modi said that it is imperative that even the smaller states should now aspire towards stable governments in order to take development to the next level. PM Modi gave examples of how Uttrakhand, Goa and Manipur have elected stable BJP governments to increase the pace of development.

PM Modi talked about how the entire area from Solan to Shimla is being developed as an educational and medical hub. PM Modi further added that AIIMS Bilaspur has also strengthened medical tourism in the country. PM Modi also slammed the Congress for not delivering on any of their promises especially those made to the small farmers of Himachal. PM Modi told people how the double-engine government provided urea to farmers at Rs. 270/kg when it was costing the government Rs. 2000/Kg.

PM Modi finally addressed the people of Solan and slammed Congress for keeping the state of Himachal backwards for ages. PM Modi urged people to realise the value of a stable government and vote for the BJP which has brought about rapid development in Himachal.
