ప్రధాన మంత్రి శ్రీ మోదీ “ఏక్ భారత్- శ్రేష్ఠ భారత్” శీర్షికతో ఒక కార్యక్రమాన్ని కూడా ప్రారంభించారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమం వివిధ రాష్ట్రాల ప్రజల మధ్య ఒకరి గురించి మరొకరికి జాగృతిని పెంపొందింపచేసేందుకు, తద్వారా భిన్నత్వంలో ఏకత్వ స్ఫూర్తిని సైతం పెంపొందించేందుకు ఉద్దేశించిన కార్యక్రమం.
ఈ సందర్బంగా ప్రధాన మంత్రి ప్రసంగిస్తూ, దేశానికి శ్రీ సర్దార్ పటేల్ అందించిన ఘనమైన సేవలకు గాను ఆయనకు నివాళి అర్పించారు. అటువంటి మహానుభావులను ఎన్నటికీ మరువజాలము అని ప్రధాన మంత్రి అన్నారు.
సంస్థానాలను ఇండియన్ యూనియన్ లో చేరేటట్లుగా ఒప్పించి, దేశాన్ని ఏకం చేయడంలో శ్రీ సర్దార్ పటేల్ పోషించిన పాత్రను గురించి శ్రీ నరేంద్ర మోదీ సుదీర్ఘంగా ఉపన్యసించారు.
“ఏక్ భారత్- శ్రేష్ఠ భారత్” కార్యక్రమం భారతదేశంలోని వివిధ రాష్ట్రాల ప్రజల మధ్య బంధాలను ఎలా పటిష్టం చేయగలదో వివరించే అనేక ఉదాహరణలను ప్రధాన మంత్రి తన ప్రసంగంలో ప్రస్తావించారు.
