Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today addressed a public meeting in Jharsuguda in Odisha. At the event, PM Modi said, “I was blessed to get the opportunity to launch the Jharsuguda Airport and dedicate the Garjanbahal coal mines to the nation.”

“Connectivity has the power to eradicate any form of regional discrimination. Whether it is the villages thriving in the remote corners of the border or within tribal regions, greater connectivity will bring greater development,” said PM Modi.

Speaking on Swachh Bharat, PM Modi urged Odisha Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik to give priority to Centre’s Cleanliness drive.

Lashing out at Naveen Patnaik government in Odisha, PM Modi questions the CM that why he don’t want to associate with the ambitious health scheme of the centre – Ayushman Bharat.

Addressing the public event, PM Modi said the Odisha state Govt is not being as cooperative as it should have been. They are trying to run Odisha at the same speed as it has been running for decades. Corruption and delay in timely decisions is continuing to obstruct Odisha's development.

Before BJP formed Government in the centre, Odisha received only Rs 82,000 Cr in 5 years. But after our Government was formed, the same amount has been raised to almost Rs 2 lakh Cr. Can you feel the difference in this aid at ground level? If not, then where is the money going afterall.

Our government has taken historic step by complying the age old demand of farmers to raise the MSP. We have decided to give a big portion of this benefit to Maize and rice farmers of Odisha, said Shri Modi.

So the time has come for a big change in Odisha. These changes will work to fulfill your hopes and expectations, said PM Modi while addressing the huge gathering in Jharsuguda.

PM Modi asserted that it is our endeavor to provide the kind of respect, rights and development that Odisha deserves and the projects initiated today at Talcher and Jharsuguda are part of this process.
