PM Modi to visit Samarkand, Uzbekistan

Published By : Admin | September 15, 2022 | 14:15 IST

I will be visiting Samarkand at the invitation of President of Uzbekistan H.E. Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev to attend the Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

At the SCO Summit, I look forward to exchanging views on topical, regional and international issues, the expansion of SCO and on further deepening of multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation within the Organization. Under the Uzbek Chairship, a number of decisions for mutual cooperation are likely to be adopted in areas of trade, economy, culture and tourism.

I also look forward to meeting President Mirziyoyev in Samarkand. I fondly recall his visit to India in 2018. He also graced the Vibrant Gujarat Summit as its Guest of Honour in 2019. In addition, I will hold bilateral meetings with some of the other Leaders attending the Summit.

On the Statehood Day of Manipur, Meghalaya & Tripura, PM Modi shares a Sanskrit verse highlighting continuous effort and progress
January 21, 2026

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi today extended his warm greetings to the people of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura as the three North Eastern states celebrate their Statehood Day.

The Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt wishes to all brothers and sisters of the region and expressed hope that, through their own efforts, they achieve success in every sphere of life.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister also shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam highlighting the spirit of continuous effort and progress.

The Sanskrit verse-
“चरैवेति चरैवेति चरन्वै मधु विन्दति।
सूर्यास्य पश्य श्रेमाणं न मामार न जीर्यति॥” conveys that one must keep moving and keep advancing, as only a consistently diligent person can taste the sweetness of progress, just as the sun tirelessly and endlessly illuminates the world with its energy.

Shri Modi posted on X;
