"Congress leaders should remember that the Government is for the nation and not for any one party: Shri Modi"
"Reason of your MP's arrogance is his friendship with the same son in Delhi: Shri Modi"
"For Congress the one point programme is how to establish the son. Nation is secondary only, the son's career must be safe: Shri Modi"
"Rajmata ji's blessings have always been with us. Make BJP win here and I take responsibility of development in this area: Shri Modi"
"When farmers were suffering, Shivraj ji was worried like there is suffering in his own family. He cancelled rallies & went to farmers: Shri Modi"
"Such arrogance does not work in a democracy: Shri Modi on Congress"

Addressing a massive rally at Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh on the evening of 5th April, Shri Narendra Modi called for the need to bring down the Congress’ sky-high arrogance and punish them for their misdoings by voting them out from power. Shri Modi also urged the people to vote for the BJP and assured them of a strong and stable government under the NDA.

The BJP’s foresightedness in initiating policies for people’s welfare, as also the Congress’ slackness in adopting such an approach, was stated by Shri Modi when he spoke of how river Narmada’s water was being available to thousands of villages in Gujarat through adoption of technology and modernisation, while towns like Shivpuri were still reeling under severe water crisis due to lack of adequate attention by the Centre. This, Shri Modi, said was the biasness shown by the Centre for a BJP-ruled state. He further cited the example of how the hailstorm-affected states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh were treated differently, whereby the Congress-ruled Maharashtra got a chunk of the Centre’s funds while MP had to seek funds from the State treasury.

False promises of the Congress and their misleading tactics were further exposed by Shri Modi in his mention of how the Centre had miserably failed in giving employment to the thousands they had promised. Be it the Nirbhaya Fund of Rs. 1000 crore, which stands unused till now, or the repetition of promises made in the Congress Manifesto, Shri Modi gave examples aplenty that put forth the failure of the Centre in implementing good governance. Citing the Congress’ lack of concern for the Nation and their sole focus on retaining their chair at the Centre, Shri Modi said that the Congress’ only emphasis and their one-point-programme was to establish ‘the son’ and ensure a safe career for him.

Taking a dig at Jyotiraditya Scindia, Shri Modi stated that he had never seen so much of arrogance in any political aspirant and wondered if the MP had imbibed the Congress’ trait of sky-high arrogance. He further spoke of how this arrogance was reflected in his leaving mid-way at a recent awards function organized by the Ministry of Power, to honour the best electricity companies. This, Shri Modi, said was because the MP had got a whiff of how Gujarat had surpassed Madhya Pradesh and won the best awards for electricity generation. “The reason for your MP's arrogance is his friendship with the same son in Delhi. Such arrogance does not work in a democracy,” said Shri Modi, even as he added how past doings of the Congress reinforce the fact that no party or person has insulted the chair of the Prime Minister like that of the Congress. “Congress leaders should remember that the Government is for the nation and not for any one party,” said Shri Modi.

Shri Modi also acknowledged Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s focus at ensuring better lives for the people of Madhya Pradesh, and spoke of how the ‘Bimaru state of MP’ had become a developing one under Shri Chouhan. “Shivraj ji built more roads, did more for power, irrigation in these 10 years as compared to 50 years of Congress rule,” said Shri Modi.

Recalling his early visit to Shivpuri, Shri Modi spoke of how he was honoured to have experienced the care and compassion of Rajmata Yashodhara Raje Scindia. Shri Modi questioned the people if the current Member of Parliament from Shivpuri had the same compassion as that of the Rajmata, to which the crowd replied in negation.

Urging the people to vote for the BJP and form a strong and stable government at the Centre, Shri Modi said, “Rajmata ji's blessings have always been with us. Make BJP win here and I take the responsibility of development in this area.”

English translation of India's National Statement at the 21st ASEAN-India Summit delivered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
October 10, 2024

Your Majesty,

Excellencies,

Thank you all for your valuable insights and suggestions. We are committed to strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and ASEAN. I am confident that together we will continue to strive for human welfare, regional peace, stability, and prosperity.

We will continue to take steps to enhance not only physical connectivity but also economic, digital, cultural, and spiritual ties.

Friends,

In the context of this year's ASEAN Summit theme, "Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience,” I would like to share a few thoughts.

Today is the tenth day of the tenth month, so I would like to share ten suggestions.

First, to promote tourism between us, we could declare 2025 as the "ASEAN-India Year of Tourism.” For this initiative, India will commit USD 5 million.

Second, to commemorate a decade of India’s Act East Policy, we could organise a variety of events between India and ASEAN countries. By connecting our artists, youth, entrepreneurs, and think tanks etc., we can include initiatives such as a Music Festival, Youth Summit, Hackathon, and Start-up Festival as part of this celebration.

Third, under the "India-ASEAN Science and Technology Fund," we could hold an annual Women Scientists’ Conclave.

Fourth, the number of Masters scholarships for students from ASEAN countries at the newly established Nalanda University will be increased twofold. Additionally, a new scholarship scheme for ASEAN students at India’s agricultural universities will also be launched starting this year.

Fifth, the review of the "ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement” should be completed by 2025. This will strengthen our economic relations and will help in creating a secure, resilient and reliable supply chain.

Sixth, for disaster resilience, USD 5 million will be allocated from the "ASEAN-India Fund." India’s National Disaster Management Authority and the ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance Centre can work together in this area.

Seventh, to ensure Health Resilience, the ASEAN-India Health Ministers Meeting can be institutionalised. Furthermore, we invite two experts from each ASEAN country to attend India’s Annual National Cancer Grid ‘Vishwam Conference.’

Eighth, for digital and cyber resilience, a cyber policy dialogue between India and ASEAN can be institutionalised.

Ninth, to promote a Green Future, I propose organising workshops on green hydrogen involving experts from India and ASEAN countries.

And tenth, for climate resilience, I urge all of you to join our campaign, " Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (Plant for Mother).

I am confident that my ten ideas will gain your support. And our teams will collaborate to implement them.

Thank you very much.
