Kanya Kelavani and Shala Praveshotsav programmes begins form Thrusday

A Golden Jubilee year's version of 'Kanya Kelavani' and 'Shala Praveshotsav' - massive people's movements are beginning from 17th June 2010, Thursday, under leadership of Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi. 

Programmes having presence since past seven years will cover rural areas during 17th to 19th June and urban areas will be covered during 24th to 27th June. The programme will involve the efforts of the Chief Minister, Cabinet, Parliamentry Secretaries, society leaders, Government office bearers, IAS officers, officials of Indian Police Services and Forest Services, District and State level class-1 officers, a 2307 'karmayogis' in total who are allotted 15 different villages to carry out various activities. They are to push up people's participation in making primary education more quality and result oriented. Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi will move out in Sarhadi Vav taluka of Banaskantha on 17th June, in Jafarabad taluka of Amareli district on 18th June and Ghoghamba taluka of Dahod district on 19th June and encourage people to participate in the movement.

State Government has seen primary education as a grass-root sector and initiated with revolutionary experiments. Government's efforts have succeeded in increasing school enrollments and bringing down school drop-out ratio, two major concerns in education field.

Government schools are provided with 64,390 new classrooms and 50,350 sanitation facilities. About 1.05 lakh 'Vidhya Sahayak' are hired. Facilities like drinking water and electricity has been provided. 'Gunotsav' is carried out to upraise the quality of all 33,376 schools of the State. Results of Gunotsav-2009 were assessed by UNESCO and recognized gradation method adapted by Education Department as a unique one.

Chief Minister's appeal of donating toys for the children of Anganwadi has got an unprecedented response by people. The same response and people's participation is being expected this time to bring qualitative changes in primary education and in the role of Anganwadis.

Kanya Kelavani Yatra will be taken out in villages and various programmes will be arranged like celebrations for the schools completing 50 or 100 years and honoring educated elderly people. Yoga education and computer education will be encouraged. 'Kanya Kelvani' and 'Shala Praveshotsav' pro-children programmes will be proved as unique ones for the making of golden future for the State.

PM to inaugurate 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth on 15th January

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) on 15th January 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan, Parliament House Complex, New Delhi. Prime Minister will also address the gathering on the occasion.

The Conference will be chaired by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla and will be attended by 61 Speakers and Presiding Officers of 42 Commonwealth countries and 4 semi-autonomous parliaments from different parts of the world.

The Conference will deliberate on a wide range of contemporary parliamentary issues, including the role of Speakers and Presiding Officers in maintaining strong democratic institutions, the use of artificial intelligence in parliamentary functioning, the impact of social media on Members of Parliament, innovative strategies to enhance public understanding of Parliament and citizen participation beyond voting, among others.
