Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with the President of Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on 14 June 2024 on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Italy. PM thanked President Zelenskyy for his warm wishes on his assuming office for the third term.

Both leaders had a productive meeting in which they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations. They also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and the upcoming Summit on Peace being hosted by Switzerland.

PM conveyed that India continues to encourage peaceful resolution of the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy, and reiterated that India would continue to do everything within its means to support a peaceful solution.

The two leaders agreed to remain in touch.

Prime Minister Condoles the Demise of Shri Imkong L. Imchen

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has expressed deep sorrow at the passing away of Shri Imkong L. Imchen, a senior leader from Nagaland.

In his message, the Prime Minister said that Shri Imchen will be remembered for his outstanding contribution to Nagaland’s development. He was active in public life for several years and remained deeply committed to the welfare of tribal communities. His legislative and ministerial tenures will be fondly remembered for their impact and dedication.

In a post on X, Shri Modi said:

“Shri Imkong L. Imchen Ji will be remembered for his outstanding contribution to Nagaland's development. He had been active in public life for several years and was particularly passionate about welfare of tribal communities. His legislative and ministerial tenures will be fondly remembered. He also contributed towards strengthening the BJP in Nagaland. My thoughts are with his family and supporters in this sad hour.”
