PM meets WHO DG Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus

Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi met World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus at Jamnagar today. Earlier both dignitaries had met at the groundbreaking ceremony of WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine.

The Prime Minister tweeted :
"Always a delight to meet @DrTedros and exchange notes on further strengthening the health sector. He always cherishes the influence of Indian teachers on his life. And today, he got a lot of praise for his Gujarati skills too! @WHO"

PM condoles loss of lives in firecracker factory mishap in Kaushambi

PM announces ex-gratia from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in a mishap at a firecracker factory in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh. Shri Modi conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Shri Modi also announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of each deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured.

The Prime Minister posted on X;

Extremely saddened by the loss of lives due to a mishap at a firecracker factory in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. May the injured recover at the earliest.

An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM @narendramodi
