PM inaugurates India Energy Week 2024

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated India Energy Week 2024 in Goa today. India Energy Week 2024 is India’s largest and only all-encompassing energy exhibition and conference, bringing together the entire energy value chain to catalyze India's energy transition goals. The Prime Minister also held a roundtable with Global oil & gas CEOs and experts.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister welcomed everyone to the second edition of India Energy Week. Expressing delight that the event is taking place in the energetic state of Goa, the Prime Minister said that it is known for its spirit of hospitality and the natural beauty and culture of the place leaves a profound impact on tourists from around the world. “Goa is touching new heights of development”, the Prime Minister said, underlining that it is the perfect destination for a discussion on a sustainable future and sensitivity towards the environment. He expressed confidence that the foreign guests who have gathered in Goa for India Energy Week 2024 will take along a lifetime memory of the state.

Noting that India Energy Week 2024 is taking place at a significant time period when India’s GDP rate crossed 7.5 percent in the first six months of the financial year, the Prime Minister said that the growth rate is higher than the global growth estimate making India the fastest growing economy in the world. He also mentioned the International Monetary Fund’s prediction of similar growth trends in the future. “Economic experts around the world believe that India will soon become the 3rd largest economy in the world”, Shri Modi said and emphasized the expanding scope of the energy sector in India’s growth story.

The Prime Minister noted that India is the world's third largest energy, oil and LPG consumer. Furthermore, he said India is the fourth largest LNG importer and refiner along with the fourth largest automobile market. He also underlined rising demand of EV in the country. He also talked about the estimates of doubling of the nation’s energy demand by 2045. The Prime Minister elaborated India’s plan to meet this growing demand. Highlighting the efforts to ensure affordable fuel, the Prime Minister said that despite adverse global factors, India is among the few nations where petrol prices have come down and 100 per cent electricity coverage was achieved by electrifying crores of houses. “India is not just meeting its needs but is also determining the global direction”, the Prime Minister added.

Explaining the unprecedented infrastructure push, the Prime Minister mentioned 11 lakh crore rupees that the recent Budget pledged for infrastructure, a big part of which will go to the energy sector. This amount will create assets in railways, roadways, waterways, airways or housing which will need energy leading to India’s efforts to expand its energy capacity. He noted rising production of domestic gas due to the government’s reforms and the country is making efforts to take the percentage of gas in the primary energy mix from 6 to 15 percent. This will see an investment of about 67 billion dollars in the next 5-6 years, he informed.

Throwing light on the circular economy and concept of reuse being a part of India’s ancient traditions, the Prime Minister noted that the same is applicable for the energy sector. He said that this belief is symbolized by the Global BioFuel Alliance which brings together governments, organizations and industries from across the world on a single platform. Initiated during the G20 Summit held in India, the Prime Minister highlighted the holistic support received by the Alliance and informed about 22 nations and 12 international organizations coming onboard to encourage the use of biofuels in the world, while also creating economic opportunities worth $500 billion.

Highlighting India’s progress in the biofuel sector, Shri Modi informed about India’s rising adoption rate. He said that ethanol blending witnessed a significant rise from 1.5 percent in 2014 to 12 percent in 2023 leading to a reduction in carbon emissions by about 42 million metric tons. “Government has set a target of 20 percent ethanol blending in petrol by 2025”, he said. Recalling the initiation of 20 percent ethanol blending in more than 80 retail outlets during India Energy Week last year, PM Modi informed that the number of outlets has now increased to 9,000.

Outlining the government's commitment to transforming rural economies through the Waste to Wealth Management model, the Prime Minister highlighted the government's efforts towards sustainable development, Prime Minister Modi announced "we are working towards the installation of 5000 Compressed Biogas Plants in India." Addressing global environmental concerns, Prime Minister Modi remarked, "despite being home to 17% of the world's population, India's Carbon Emission Share is only 4%." He added, "We are committed to further improving our Energy Mix by focusing on the development of environmentally sensitive energy sources." The Prime Minister reiterated India’s goal to achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2070.

Prime Minister Modi noted, "Today, India ranks fourth in the world in Renewable Energy Installed Capacity." 40 percent of India’s installed capacity comes from non-fossil fuels. Highlighting the nation's progress in solar energy, Prime Minister Modi stated, "In the past decade, India's Solar Energy Installed Capacity has grown by more than 20 times." He added, "The campaign to connect with Solar Energy is gaining momentum in India."

Prime Minister Modi noted that the launch of a major mission aimed at installing Solar Rooftop Panels in one crore homes across India, will not only make one crore families self-reliant in the energy sector but also establish mechanisms to deliver excess electricity generated directly to the grid. Prime Minister Modi emphasized the transformative impact of these initiatives. "There is a great potential for investment in the entire Solar Value Chain", he added.

Touching upon India’s stride in the green hydrogen sector, the Prime Minister highlighted the National Green Hydrogen Mission which will pave the way for India becoming a center of hydrogen production and export. He expressed confidence that India's green energy sector can make both investors and industries a sure shot winner.

The India Energy Week event reflects India's commitment to global cooperation in the energy sector. Prime Minister Modi remarked, "The India Energy Week event is not just India's event but a reflection of 'India with the world and India for the world' sentiment."

He encouraged collaboration and knowledge sharing in sustainable energy development, stating, "Let us learn from each other, collaborate on cutting-edge technologies, and explore avenues for sustainable energy development."

In conclusion, Prime Minister Modi expressed optimism about building a prosperous future that prioritizes environmental conservation. He stated, "Together, we can build a future that is prosperous and environmentally sustainable."

Governor of Goa, Shri P S Sreedharan Pillai, Chief Minister of Goa, Shri Pramod Sawant, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri and Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Oil and Natural Gas, Shri Rameswar Teli were present on the occasion among others.

Background

Achieving Aatmanirbharta in energy requirements has been a key focus area of the Prime Minister. In yet another step in this direction, India Energy Week 2024 is being held from 6 – 9 February in Goa and is India’s largest and only all-encompassing energy exhibition and conference, bringing together the entire energy value chain, and will serve as a catalyst for India's energy transition goals. The Prime Minister also held a roundtable with Global oil & gas CEOs and experts.

Encouraging and fostering startups and integrating them into the energy value chain will be an important focus for India Energy Week 2024. It is expected to witness the participation of around 17 Energy ministers from different countries, 35,000+ attendees and more than 900 exhibitors. It will have six dedicated country pavilions - Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, the UK and the USA. A special Make in India Pavilion is also being organized to showcase innovative solutions which Indian MSMEs are spearheading in the energy sector.

साथियों,

अजमेर आस्था और शौर्य की धरती है। यहां तीर्थ भी है और क्रांतिवीरों के पदचिन्ह भी हैं। अभी कल ही मैं इजराइल की यात्रा को पूरा करके भारत लौटा हूं। राजस्थान के सपूत मेजर दलपत सिंह के शौर्य को इजराइल के लोग आज भी गौरव से याद करते हैं। मुझे भी इजराइल की संसद में, मेजर दलपत सिंह जी के शौर्य को नमन करने का सौभाग्य मिला। राजस्थान के वीर बाकुरों की, इजराइल के हाइफा शहर को आजाद कराने में जो भूमिका थी, मुझे उसका गौरवगान करने का अवसर मिला है।

साथियों,

कुछ समय पहले ही, राजस्थान में भाजपा की डबल इंजर सरकार को दो साल पूरे हुए हैं, मुझे संतोष है कि आज राजस्थान विकास के नए पथ पर अग्रसर है। विकास के जिन वायदों के साथ भाजपा सरकार आपकी सेवा में आई थी, उन्हें तेजी के साथ पूरा कर रही है। और आज का दिन, विकास के इसी अभियान को तेज करने का दिवस है। थोड़ी देर पहले यहां राजस्थान के विकास से जुड़ी करबी 17 हजार करोड़ रूपयों की परियोजनाओं का शिलान्यास और लोकार्पण हुआ है। सड़क, बिजली, पानी, स्वास्थ्य, शिक्षा, हर क्षेत्र में नई शक्ति जुड़ रही है। ये सारे प्रोजेक्टस राजस्थान की जनता की सुविधा बढ़ाएंगे और राजस्थान के युवाओं के लिए, रोजगार के भी अवसर पैदा करेंगे।

साथियों,

भाजपा की डबल इंजर सरकार लगातार युवा शक्ति को सशक्त कर रही है। दो साल पहले तक राजस्थान से भर्तियों में भ्रष्टाचार और पेपर लीक की ही खबरें चमकती रहती थीं, आती रहती थीं। अब राजस्थान में पेपर लीक पर लगाम लगी है, दोषियों पर सख्त कार्रवाई हो रही है। आज यहां इसी मंच से राजस्थान के 21 हजार से अधिक युवाओं को नियुक्ति पत्र भी सौंपे गए हैं। ये बहुत बड़ा बदलाव आया है। मैं इस बदलाव के लिए, नई नौकरियों के लिए, विकास के सभी कामों के लिए, राजस्थान के आप सभी लोगों को बहुत-बहुत बधाई देता हूं।

साथियों,

आज वीरांगनाओं की इस धरती से, मुझे देशभर की बेटियों के लिए एक अहम अभियान शुरू करने का अवसर मिला है। यहां अजमेर से HPV वैक्सीनेशन अभियान शुरू हुआ है। ये अभियान, देश की नारीशक्ति को सशक्त करने की दिशा में अहम कदम है।

साथियों,

हम सब जानते हैं कि परिवार में जब मां बीमार होती है, तो घर बिखर सा जाता है। अगर मां स्वस्थ है, तो परिवार हर संकट का सामना करने में सक्षम रहता है। इसी भाव से, भाजपा सरकार ने महिलाओं को संबल देने वाली अनेक योजनाएं चलाई हैं।

साथियों,

हमने 2014 से पहले का वो दौर देखा है, जिसमें शौचालय के अभाव में बहनों-बेटियों को कितनी पीड़ा, कितना अपमान झेलना पड़ता था। बच्चियां स्कूल छोड़ देती थीं, क्योंकि वहां अलग टॉयलेट की सुविधा नहीं होती थी। गरीब बेटियां सेनिटरी पैड्स नहीं ले पाती थीं। पहले जो सत्ता में रहे, उनके लिए ये छोटी बातें थीं। इसलिए इन समस्याओं की चर्चा तक नहीं होती थी। लेकिन हमारे लिए ये बहनों-बेटियों को बीमार करने वाला, उनके अपमान से जुड़ा संवेदनशील मसला था। इसलिए, हमने इनका मिशन मोड पर समाधान किया।

साथियों,

गर्भावस्था के दौरान कुपोषण माताओं के जीवन के लिए बहुत बड़ा खतरा होता था। हमने सुरक्षित मातृत्व के लिए योजना चलाई, मां को पोषक आहार मिले, इसके लिए पांच हज़ार रुपए बहनों के खाते में जमा करने की योजना शुरु की। मां धुएं में खांसती रहती थी, लेकिन उफ्फ तक नहीं करती थी। हमने कहा ये नहीं चलेगा। और इसलिए उज्जवला गैस योजना बनाई गई। ये सब इसलिए संभव हुआ, क्योंकि भाजपा सरकार, सत्ता भाव से नहीं, संवेदनशीलता के साथ काम करती है।

साथियों,

21वीं सदी का एक चौथाई हिस्सा बीत चुका है। आज का समय राजस्थान के विकास के लिए बड़ा महत्वपूर्ण है। भाजपा की डबल इंजन सरकार, राजस्थान की विरासत और विकास, दोनों को साथ लेकर चल रही है। हम सब जानते हैं, अच्छी सड़क, अच्छी रेल और हवाई सुविधा सिर्फ सफर आसान नहीं करती, वो पूरे इलाके की किस्मत बदल देती है। जब गांव-गांव तक अच्छी सड़क पहुँचती है, तो किसान अपनी फसल सही दाम पर बेच पाता है। व्यापारी आसानी से अपना सामान बाहर भेज पाते हैं। और हमारा अजमेर-पुष्कर तो, उसकी पर्यटन की ताकत कौन नहीं जानता। अच्छी कनेक्टिविटी का पर्यटन पर सबसे अच्छा असर पड़ता है। जब सफर आसान होता है, तो ज्यादा लोग घूमने आते हैं।

और साथियों,

जब पर्यटक आते हैं तो स्वाभाविक है होटल चलते हैं, ढाबे चलते हैं, कचौड़ी और दाल बाटी ज्यादा बिकती है, यहां राजस्थान के कारीगरों का बनाया सामान बिकता है, टैक्सी चलती है, गाइड को काम मिलता है। यानी एक पर्यटक कई परिवारों की रोज़ी-रोटी बन जाता है। इसी सोच के साथ हमारी सरकार, राजस्थान में आधुनिक कनेक्टिविटी पर बहुत बल दे रही है।

साथियों,

जैसे-जैसे राजस्थान में कनेक्टिविटी का विस्तार हो रहा है, वैसे-वैसे यहां निवेश के लिए भी अवसर लगातार बढ़ते जा रहे हैं। दिल्ली-मुंबई इंडस्ट्रियल कॉरिडोर के इर्द-गिर्द उद्योगों के लिए एक बहुत ही शानदार इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर बनाया जा रहा है। यानी राजस्थान को अवसरों की भूमि बनाने के लिए, डबल इंजन सरकार हर संभव, अनेक विध काम कर रही है।

साथियों,

राजस्थान की माताएं अपने बच्चों को पालने में ही, राष्ट्र भक्ति का संस्कार देती हैं। राजस्थान की ये धरा जानती है कि देश का सम्मान क्या होता है, और इसीलिए आज राजस्थान की इस धरा पर, मैं आप लोगों से एक और बात कहने आया हूं।

साथियों,

हाल में ही, दिल्ली में, दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा AI सम्मेलन हुआ, Artificial Intelligence इसमें दुनिया के अनेक देशों के प्रधानमंत्री, अनेक देशों के राष्ट्रपति, अनेक देशों के मंत्रि, उस कार्यक्रम में आए थे। दुनिया की बड़ी-बड़ी कंपनियां, उन कंपनियों के कर्ता-धर्ता वो भी एक छत के नीचे इकट्ठे हुए थे। सबने भारत की खुले मन से प्रशंसा की। मैं जरा राजस्थान के मेरे भाई-बहनों से पूछना चाहता हूं। जब दुनिया के इतने सारे लोग, भारत की प्रशंसा करते हैं, ये सुनकर के आपको गर्व होता है की नहीं होता है? आपको गर्व होता है कि नहीं होता है? आपको अभिमान होता है कि नहीं होता है? आपका माथा ऊंचा हुआ या नहीं हुआ? आपका सीना चौड़ा हुआ कि नहीं हुआ?

साथियों,

आपको गर्व हुआ, लेकिन हताशा निराशा में डूबी, लगातार पराजय के कारण थक चुकी कांग्रेस ने क्या किया, ये आपने देखा है। दुनियाभर के मेहमानों के सामने, कांग्रेस ने देश को बदनाम करने की कोशिश की। इन्होंने विदेशी मेहमानों के सामने देश को बेइज्जत करने के लिए पूरा ड्रामा किया।

साथियों,

कांग्रेस, पूरे देश में ल्रगातार हार रही है, और गुस्से में वो इसका बदला, वो भारत को बदनाम करके ले रही है। कभी कांग्रेस, INC यानी इंडियन नेशनल कांग्रेस थी, लेकिन अब INC नहीं बची है, इंडियन नेशनल कांग्रेस नहीं बची है, आज वो INC के बजाय MMC, MMC बन गई है। MMC यानी मुस्लिम लीगी माओवादी कांग्रेस हो चुकी है।

राजस्थान के मेरे वीरों,

इतिहास गवाह है, मुस्लिम लीग भारत से नफरत करती थी, और इसलिए मुस्लिम लीग ने देश बांट दिया। आज कांग्रेस भी वही कर रही है। माओवादी भी, भारत की समृद्धि, हमारे संविधान और हमारे सफल लोकतंत्र से नफरत करते हैं, ये घात लगाकर हमला करते हैं, कांग्रेस भी घात लगाकर, देश को बदनाम करने के लिए कहीं भी घुस जाती है। कांग्रेस के ऐसे कुकर्मों को देश कभी माफ नहीं करेगा।

साथियों,

देश को बदनाम करना, देश की सेनाओं को कमजोर करना, ये कांग्रेस की पुरानी आदत रही है। आप याद कीजिए, यही कांग्रेस है, जिसने हमारी सेना के जवानों को हथियारों और वर्दी तक के लिए तरसा कर रखा था। ये वही कांग्रेस है, जिसने सालों तक हमारे सैनिक परिवारों को वन रैंक वन पेंशन से वंचित रखा था। ये वही कांग्रेस है, जिसके जमाने में विदेशों से होने वाले रक्षा सौदों में बड़े-बड़े घोटाले होते थे।

साथियों,

बीते 11 वर्षों में भारत की सेना ने हर मोर्चे पर आतंकियों पर, देश के दुश्मनों पर करारा प्रहार किया। हमारी सेना, हर मिशन, हर मोर्चे में विजयी रही। सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक से लेकर ऑपरेशन सिंदूर तक, वीरता का लोहा मनवाया, लेकिन कांग्रेस के नेताओं ने इसमें भी दुश्मनों के झूठ को ही आगे बढ़ाया। देश के लिए जो भी शुभ है, जो भी अच्छा है, जो भी देशवासियों का भला करने वाला है, कांग्रेस उस सबका विरोध करती है। इसलिए, देश आज कांग्रेस को सबक सिखा रहा है।

साथियों,

राजस्थान में तो आपने कांग्रेस के कुशासन को करीब से अनुभव किया है। यहां जितने दिन कांग्रेस की सरकार रही, वो भ्रष्टाचार करने और आपसी लड़ाई-झगड़े में ही उलझी रही। कांग्रेस ने हमारे किसानों को भी हमेशा धोखा दिया है। आप याद कीजिए, कांग्रेस ने दशकों तक सिंचाई की परियोजनाओं को कैसे लटकाए रखा। इसका राजस्थान के किसानों को बहुत अधिक नुकसान हुआ है। ERCP परियोजना को कांग्रेस की सरकारों ने केवल फाइलों और घोषणाओं में उलझाकर रखा। हमारी सरकार ने आते ही इस स्कीम को फाइलों से निकालकर धरातल पर उतारने का प्रयास किया है।

साथियों,

हमारी सरकार ने नदियों को जोड़ने का जो अभियान शुरु किया है, उसका बहुत अधिक फायदा राजस्थान को मिलना तय है। संशोधित पार्वती-कालीसिंध-चंबल लिंक परियोजना हो, यमुना-राजस्थान लिंक प्रोजेक्ट हो, डबल इंजन सरकार ऐसी अनेक सिंचाई परियोजनाओं का लाभ किसानों तक पहुंचाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। आज भी झालावाड़, बारां, कोटा और बूंदी जिले के लिए पानी की अनेक परियोजनाओं पर काम शुरु हुआ है। हमारा प्रयास है, कि राजस्थान में भूजल का स्तर भी ऊपर उठे।

भाजपा सरकार, राजस्थान के सामर्थ्य को समझते हुए, योजनाएं बना रही है, उन्हें लागू कर रही है। मुझे खुशी है कि राजस्थान अब, सूरज की ताकत से समृद्धि कमाने वाली धरती बन गया है। हम सब जानते हैं, हमारे राजस्थान में धूप की कोई कमी नहीं। अब यही धूप, सामान्य मानवी के घर की बचत और कमाई का साधन बन रही है। और इसमें बहुत बड़ी भूमिका है, प्रधानमंत्री सूर्यघर मुफ्त बिजली योजना की। इस योजना में राजस्थान का भाग्य बदलने की ताकत है। इस योजना में भाजपा सरकार लोगों को अपनी छत पर सोलर पैनल लगाने के लिए 78 हजार रुपए की सहायता देती है। सरकार सीधे आपके बैंक खाते में पैसे भेजती है। आजादी के बाज सब बजट, सब योजनाएं देख लीजिए, जिसमें मध्यम वर्ग को सबसे ज्यादा लाभ होने वाला है, ऐेसी योजना कभी नजर नहीं आएगी, आज इन परिवारों को सोलर पैनल लगाने के लिए 78 हजार रुपए सीधा सरकार देती है। सबसे अधिक लाभ मध्यम वर्ग के लोग ले रहे हैं। और जिससे घर पर एक छोटा सा बिजली घर तैयार हो जाता है। दिन में सूरज की रोशनी से बिजली बनती है, घर में वही बिजली काम आती है और जो ज्यादा बिजली बनती है, वो बिजली ग्रिड में जाती है। और जिस घर में बिजली बनी होती है, उसे भी इसका लाभ मिलता है।

साथियों,

आज राजस्थान में सवा लाख से अधिक परिवार इस योजना से जुड़ चुके हैं। और इस योजना की वजह से, कई घरों का बिजली बिल लगभग जीरो आ रहा है। यानी खर्च कम हुआ है, बचत ज़्यादा हुई है।

विकसित राजस्थान से विकसित भारत के मंत्र पर हम लगातार काम कर रहे हैं। आज जिन योजनाओं पर काम शुरू हुआ है, वो विकसित राजस्थान की नींव को और अधिक मजबूत करेंगे। जब राजस्थान विकसित होगा, तो यहां के हर परिवार का जीवन समृद्ध होगा। आप सभी को एक बार फिर, विकास परियोजनाओं के लिए बहुत-बहुत शुभकामनाएं। मेरे साथ बोलिये-
