The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today expressed grief over an unfortunate incident in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district where as many as nine children were killed after a wall collapsed.

Shri Modi also announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from the Prime Minister National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased in the mishap. He prayed for the bereaved families of the children.

The Prime Minister posted on X:

"The Prime Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased in the mishap in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000."

"मध्य प्रदेश के सागर में दीवार गिरने से हुआ हादसा हृदयविदारक है। इसमें जान गंवाने वाले बच्चों के शोकाकुल परिजनों के प्रति मेरी संवेदनाएं। ईश्वर उन्हें इस पीड़ा को सहने की शक्ति प्रदान करे। इसके साथ ही मैं सभी घायलों के शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की कामना करता हूं: PM"

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi expressed happiness on meeting Senator Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia.

The two leaders discussed the growing India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in areas such as defence, trade, technology and ensuring supply chain resilience.

They reaffirmed that India and Australia will continue to work together for a free, open, secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific.
