India will be world's biggest Innovation hub, creating affordable medicines, technology, and vehicles: PM Modi in Mysuru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting in Mysuru, Karnataka, seeking blessings from Tai Chamundeshwari. Expressing reverence, he bowed to the feet of Tai Chamundeshwari, Tai Bhuvaneshwari, and Tai Kaveri, symbolizing the essence of power inherent in the land of Mysuru and Karnataka. Acknowledging the significant presence of the people, especially the mothers and sisters of Karnataka, PM Modi emphasized the state's resounding call for the return of the Modi government.

"Today marks a pivotal moment for the Lok Sabha election and the next five years," stated PM Modi, referencing the release of BJP's manifesto. He highlighted the manifesto as a guarantee of promises, affirming the commitment to construct three crore new homes for the impoverished, ensure continued free rations for the needy, offer free medical treatment under the Ayushman scheme for senior citizens above seventy, and empower three crore women to become 'Lakhpatis'. These assurances, he asserted, would significantly enhance the quality of life for every individual in Karnataka.

Reflecting on the transformative journey of Digital India over the past decade, PM Modi underscored BJP's vision for the future, promising monumental changes. He envisioned a future India marked by world-class infrastructure, innovation hubs, and advancements in technology.

“The BJP's manifesto is now a picture of the future and bigger changes. This is the new picture of India. Earlier, India was known for dilapidated roads. Now, expressways are the identity of India. In the coming times, India will amaze the world with its world-class network of expressways, waterways, and airways,” the Prime Minister said.

PM Modi reaffirmed BJP's commitment to promoting local languages and preserving heritage sites like Mysuru, Hampi, and Badami, thereby fostering tourism and generating employment opportunities in Karnataka. He said, “Now, India will emerge as the world's biggest Innovation Hub. That means we will create cheap medicines, cheap technology, and cheap vehicles for the entire world. India will become the world's research and development hub. And a fund of one lakh crore rupees will also play a major role in scientific research. Karnataka is the IT and technology hub of the country. The youth here will benefit greatly from it.”

"For the realization of these goals, BJP and the NDA are indispensable," declared PM Modi, emphasizing the party's track record of delivering on promises. He cited landmark achievements such as the abrogation of Article 370, legislation against triple talaq, reservation for women, and the construction of the Ram Temple as evidence of BJP's unwavering resolve.

PM Modi acknowledged the invaluable guidance of senior leaders like Shri HD Deve Gowda and the dedication of experienced leaders like Shri BS Yediyurappa, highlighting their pivotal roles in Karnataka's development.

The Prime Minister invoked Karnataka's rich heritage and tradition of sacrifice for the nation's unity and integrity, contrasting it with the divisive agenda of the Congress party. PM Modi said, “Karnataka is the carrier of that great tradition, which teaches to sacrifice everything for the unity and integrity of the country. Here, there is the tradition of Saints of Sutturu Math, the voice of unity of the national poet Kuvempu, the pride of Field Marshal Cariappa, and the development work done by the king Krishnaraja Wodeyar of Mysuru is still an inspiration for the country. This is the land where the mothers of Kodagu dream of sending their children to the army for national service.”

"The Congress party is playing with fire for power," warned PM Modi, condemning its divisive tactics and anti-national rhetoric. He criticized Congress for its attempts to hinder the country's progress and its open appeasement policies, urging voters to reject the politics of opportunism and deception. “The Congress party today is roaming around like the ‘Sultan’ of a ‘Tukde-Tukde’ gang. The dangerous intentions of dividing, breaking, and weakening the country are still the same in the Congress party today,” said PM Modi.

“While India's stature and respect are increasing globally, Congress leaders go abroad to denigrate the country. When the country gives a fitting reply to its enemies, Congress demands proof of surgical strikes from the army. When an organization involved in terrorist activities is banned, Congress works with its political wing,” the Prime Minister added.

Highlighting the achievements that Karnataka attained in the last ten years, PM Modi said, “The network of national highways has been greatly expanded here. The expressway between Mysuru and Bengaluru has given this region new momentum. Today, along with the country, the Vande Bharat trains are also running in Karnataka. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, people in more than eight thousand villages are starting to get water from taps. These results show that if the intention is right, then the results are right too.”

“Modi gives an account of his ten years. Have you ever seen Congress being held accountable for its sixty years? No, right? Because Congress only knows how to create problems, and how to deceive. The people of Karnataka are trapped in this agony. The Karnataka Congress Party has become an ATM state of looting. Due to open looting, the government treasury has been emptied. Development and welfare schemes are being discontinued,” he added.

While concluding his address, PM Modi urged the people of Karnataka to vote for BJP candidates, emphasizing their role in strengthening his leadership and shaping India's future. Underscoring the importance of their participation in the democratic process, PM Modi said, ‘Every vote you cast for them on April twenty-sixth will strengthen Modi and determine the future of the country.”

PM Modi’s remarks at the BRICS session: Environment, COP-30, and Global Health
July 07, 2025

Your Highness,
Excellencies,

I am glad that under the chairmanship of Brazil, BRICS has given high priority to important issues like environment and health security. These subjects are not only interconnected but are also extremely important for the bright future of humanity.

Friends,

This year, COP-30 is being held in Brazil, making discussions on the environment in BRICS both relevant and timely. Climate change and environmental safety have always been top priorities for India. For us, it's not just about energy, it's about maintaining a balance between life and nature. While some see it as just numbers, in India, it's part of our daily life and traditions. In our culture, the Earth is respected as a mother. That’s why, when Mother Earth needs us, we always respond. We are transforming our mindset, our behaviour, and our lifestyle.

Guided by the spirit of "People, Planet, and Progress”, India has launched several key initiatives — such as Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' (A Tree in the Name of Mother), the International Solar Alliance, the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, the Green Hydrogen Mission, the Global Biofuels Alliance, and the Big Cats Alliance.

During India’s G20 Presidency, we placed strong emphasis on sustainable development and bridging the gap between the Global North and South. With this objective, we achieved consensus among all countries on the Green Development Pact. To encourage environment-friendly actions, we also launched the Green Credits Initiative.

Despite being the world’s fastest-growing major economy, India is the first country to achieve its Paris commitments ahead of schedule. We are also making rapid progress toward our goal of achieving Net Zero by 2070. In the past decade, India has witnessed a remarkable 4000% increase in its installed capacity of solar energy. Through these efforts, we are laying a strong foundation for a sustainable and green future.

Friends,

For India, climate justice is not just a choice, it is a moral obligation. India firmly believes that without technology transfer and affordable financing for countries in need, climate action will remain confined to climate talk. Bridging the gap between climate ambition and climate financing is a special and significant responsibility of developed countries. We take along all nations, especially those facing food, fuel, fertilizer, and financial crises due to various global challenges.

These countries should have the same confidence that developed countries have in shaping their future. Sustainable and inclusive development of humanity cannot be achieved as long as double standards persist. The "Framework Declaration on Climate Finance” being released today is a commendable step in this direction. India fully supports this initiative.

Friends,

The health of the planet and the health of humanity are deeply intertwined. The COVID-19 pandemic taught us that viruses do not require visas, and solutions cannot be chosen based on passports. Shared challenges can only be addressed through collective efforts.

Guided by the mantra of 'One Earth, One Health,' India has expanded cooperation with all countries. Today, India is home to the world’s largest health insurance scheme "Ayushman Bharat”, which has become a lifeline for over 500 million people. An ecosystem for traditional medicine systems such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, and Siddha has been established. Through Digital Health initiatives, we are delivering healthcare services to an increasing number of people across the remotest corners of the country. We would be happy to share India’s successful experiences in all these areas.

I am pleased that BRICS has also placed special emphasis on enhancing cooperation in the area of health. The BRICS Vaccine R&D Centre, launched in 2022, is a significant step in this direction. The Leader’s Statement on "BRICS Partnership for Elimination of Socially Determined Diseases” being issued today shall serve as new inspiration for strengthening our collaboration.

Friends,

I extend my sincere gratitude to all participants for today’s critical and constructive discussions. Under India’s BRICS chairmanship next year, we will continue to work closely on all key issues. Our goal will be to redefine BRICS as Building Resilience and Innovation for Cooperation and Sustainability. Just as we brought inclusivity to our G-20 Presidency and placed the concerns of the Global South at the forefront of the agenda, similarly, during our Presidency of BRICS, we will advance this forum with a people-centric approach and the spirit of ‘Humanity First.’

Once again, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to President Lula on this successful BRICS Summit.

Thank you very much.
