President of India Hosts ‘At Home’ for Freedom Fighters

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee hosted an ‘At Home’ reception for freedom fighters on the occasion of the 72nd   anniversary of the Quit India Movement today (August 9, 2014) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

On the occasion, the President honoured and felicitated freedom fighters from across the country in the presence of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Union Minister for Home Affairs and other dignitaries.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi also met the Freedom Fighters at the President's 'At Home' function.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi praised Women's Squash Team on winning Bronze Medal in Asian Games. Shri Modi congratulated Dipika Pallikal, Joshna Chinappa, Anahat Singh and Tanvi for this achievement.

In a X post, PM said;

“Delighted that our Squash Women's Team has won the Bronze Medal in Asian Games. I congratulate @DipikaPallikal, @joshnachinappa, @Anahat_Singh13 and Tanvi for their efforts. I also wish them the very best for their future endeavours.”
