Ladies and Gentlemen 

I am happy to inaugurate the World Congress on Information Technology. This event is being held in India for the first time. It has been organized in partnership with NASSCOM, WITSA and the Government of Telangana.

I am sure, it shall be of mutual benefit to investors, innovators, think-tanks and other stakeholders from across the world. I would have liked to be there in person. I am happy, however, that the power of IT enables me to address you remotely.

To all the delegates joining us from abroad: Welcome to India.Welcome to Hyderabad.

On the side-lines of this conference, I hope you shall have some timeto explore the vibrant history, and delectable cuisine of Hyderabad. I am sure, it shall encourage you to visit other parts of India as well. 

Indeed, India is home to ancient, rich and diverse cultures, through which runsan under-lying theme of unity.

in Indian philosophy. It reflects our inclusive traditions.In the twenty-first century,technology is becoming an enabler or this concept. It helps us create a seam-less, integrated world. 

A world where geographical distance no longer remains a barrier in collaborating for a better future.Today,India is the hot-spot of digital innovation,across all sectors. 

We not only have a growing number of innovative entrepreneurs,but also a growing market for tech innovation. We were and we remain one of the most tech friendly populations in the world.With over one lakh villages linked with optical fiber,121 crore Mobile phones, 120 crore Aadhaar and 50 crore internet users,

India is best placed to leverage the power of technology and leap-frog into the future while ensuring empowerment of every citizen. Digital India is a journeybringing about digital inclusion for digital empowerment aided by digital infrastructure for digital delivery of services.Leveraging technology in such a holistic manner was unthinkable some years ago. 

We have successfully completed this life-cyclein the last 3 and a half years.This has been possible through a change in public behavior and processes. Digital India has not remained merely a Government initiative,but has become a way of life. 

Technology has transcended power-point presentations and has become an inseparable part of people’s lives.While most Government initiatives depend on a Government push,Digital India is succeeding because of the people’s pull. 

The JAM trinity of combining 320 million Jan Dhan bank accounts of poor with Aadhaar and Mobile with direct benefits of welfare measures has saved Rupees 57 thousand Crores. 

Around 22 million digital hospital transactions across 172 hospitals in Indiaare bringing comfort in the lives of patients.The National Scholarship Portal for easy Scholarships today has 14 million students registered on it. 

eNAM- an online agriculture market offering the best prices to the farmers  has 6.6 million farmers registered and 470 agriculture markets connected.Digital payments through BHIM-UPI has registered transactions of Rupees fifteen thousand Crore in January 2018. 

The unique Umang app launched only three months back  is already offering 185 Government services. 

Today 2.8 lakh Common Services Centers are there in different parts of the country giving many digital services to people. About 10 lakh people work in these centers,including thousands of women entrepreneurs.In order to leverage the skills & talent of our youth,BPOs have started operating from places like Kohima and Imphal in North East India to areas of Jammu and Kashmir.86 Units across 27 states and Union territories have already become operational and many more are likely to come up soon. 

To ensure digital literacy in every house-hold,we have initiated a Pradhan Mantri Rural Digital Literacy Mission to make 60 million adults digitally literate in rural India. Under this 10 million people have already been trained. 

We have come a long waywith the convergence of Make In India & Digital India. From only two mobile manufacturing units in India in 2014,today there are 118 units  operational in India,including some of the best global brands. 

Government e-Market-place has been developed as the National Procurement Portal of India.It enables small and medium enterprises to compete in meeting the procurement requirements of the Government.This simple IT framework has improved transparency in Government procurement.It has also speeded upprocurement processes,and empowered thousands of small and medium enterprises. 

Yesterday,at Mumbai University, I had the opportunity to dedicate to the nation,the Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence.This is an independent,non-profit research institute,with a mission of Artificial Intelligence for Social Good. 

A few days ago,in Dubai,at the World Government Summit,I had the opportunity to visit an exhibitionon the “Museum of the Future.” This has been plannedas an incubator for ideas,and a driver for innovation. I appreciate the pioneers of technology, some of whom are in the audience today,for the work they are doing. They are helping to secure a better, more comfortable future for humanity. 

We stand today,at the cusp of the fourth Industrial Revolution.Technology,if used well for public good,can deliver lasting prosperity to mankind and a sustainable future for our planet.It is in this context,thatI place the World Conference on Information Technology,in India today. 

The key themes at this Conference,reflect the opportunities that await us.Disruptive technologies such as Block-chain and the Internet of Things,will have a deep impact in the way we live and work.They will require rapid adaptation in our workplaces. 

Skilling citizens for the workplace of the future is Important.In India,we have launched the National Skill Development Mission to prepare our children and youthfor a bright future.We also need to ensure that our existing work-forceis able to re-skill,  as new technologies emerge. 

One of the invited speakers at this event,the robot Sophia shows the potential of new technologies.We need to reflecton the changing nature of jobs,in the emerging age of intelligent automation .I compliment NASSCOM for developing the “Skills of the Future” platform. 

I am told, NASSCOM has identified eight important technologies.They include Artificial Intelligence,Virtual Reality,Robotic Process Automation, Internet of Things, 

Big Data Analytics,3D Printing,Cloud Computing,Social and Mobile. NASSCOM has also identified fifty-five job roles that are going to be in high demand globally. 

I am sure,the "skills of future" platform will greatly help India maintain its competitive edge.Digital technology is now at the heart of every business. 

New technologies must be embedded in various operations and processes of a business entity. 

How can we prepareour millions of small and medium businesses for this transformation,in a short time?Keeping in mind the importance of innovation,in the future of economy and business,the Government of Indiahas launched the Start-up India initiative. 

We believeour startups are the key to finding viable and economical solutions across sectors and verticals. 

Under the Atal Innovation Mission,we are building Atal Tinkering Labs in schools across India.The objective of this scheme is to foster curiosity,creativity and imagination in young minds.

I am sure,that as you deliberate on various themes of Information Technology,you shall keep the interests of the common man at the back of your mind. I once again welcome the distinguished delegates from across the world,to India.May your deliberations be productive.

साथियों,

मैं कल दोपहर बाद गंगटोक पहुंचा था, और यहां मेरे आने से पहले, मैं बंगाल चुनावों की गहमा-गहमी में जरा व्यस्त था। यहां आते ही एक नई अनुभूति, एक नया आनंद, चारों तरफ उत्सव का माहौल, मन खुशियों से भर गया। रात में हुई बारिश, फिर सुबह की ठंडक और ये खिली हुई धूप, सिक्किम के रंग ही निराले हैं।

साथियों,

पूरब का स्वर्ग सिक्किम, ऑर्किड्स का गार्डन सिक्किम, इसका अप्रतिम सौंदर्य, यहां की शांति, यहां का आध्यात्मिक आनंद, ये अनुभूति बड़े सौभाग्य से मिलती है। आज मैं यहां के ऑर्किड्स को भी देखने गया था। मेरे लिए जितना समय तय हुआ था, मैं ज्यादा ही समय वहां बिता रहा था। और मैं देशभर के टूरिस्टों को, प्रकृति प्रेमी टूरिस्टों को, अगर उन्होंने सिक्किम का ये ऑर्किड नहीं देखा है, तो कुछ भी नहीं देखा है। और मुझे विश्वास है कि इस बार टूरिस्ट, सिक्किम के टूरिज्म के सारे आंकड़े इस बार पार कर देंगे। ऑर्किड में मैंने देखा प्रकृति के वो रंग, उनका उल्लास, मेरा मन अभी भी उसी में डूबा हुआ है।

साथियों,

आज हमें सिक्किम की 50 वर्ष की यात्रा का उत्सव मनाने का अवसर मिला है। जब अवसर इतना ऐतिहासिक हो और इतने दिव्य माहौल में हो रहा हो, तो उसकी भव्यता कई गुना बढ़ जाती है। पालजोर का ये स्टेडियम आज उसी अद्भुत आभा से भरा हुआ है। यहां जो सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम हुए, कलाकारों की मुग्ध कर देने वाली प्रस्तुतियां हुईं। सिक्किम के आप लोगों का जो उत्साह दिखा, सामने पहाड़ों और आसमान में प्रकृति की सुंदर छटा दिखी। ऐसा लग रहा था, जैसे प्रकृति और संस्कृति साथ मिलकर जीवंत हो उठी। वाकई ये स्मूर्तियां हमेशा मेरे दिल में बनी रहेगी। और मैं जो भी कोरियोग्राफी करने वाले लोग होंगे, जो भी गाने वाले लोग होंगे, सबको बधाई देता हूं। और आज का ये कार्यक्रम मैं चाहूंगा कि ये टीवी, मीडिया वाले, दूरदर्शन वाले देश को बार-बार दिखाएं। जब देश में राजनीतिक स्वार्थ के चलते भाषावाद, प्रांतवाद, ऊंच-नीच, देश में भेदभाव के लिए लगातार कोशिश हो रही है, आज सिक्किम ने ‘एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत’ के दर्शन करा दिए। उन्होंने इस छोटे से कार्यक्रम में पूरा हिंदुस्तान आंखों के सामने खड़ा कर दिया। और अभी भी जो उन्होंने बैठने की रचना की है, मुझे ऊपर से दिखता है, पूरा हिंदुस्तान है, और जो जिस प्रदेश का है, वैसे ही परिवेश है, उधर गुजरात तो गुजराती कपड़ों में लोग बैठे हैं। वाकई-वाकई आपने दिल जीत लिया है। ये मोदी का नहीं, पूरे हिंदुस्तान का दिल जीत लिया है आज। यही तो भारत भक्ति होती है, यही तो देशभक्ति होती है। नई पीढ़ी में इसी से देशभक्ति के भाव जगते हैं। बहुत-बहुत बधाई आप लोगों को।

साथियों,

सिक्किम आने पर मुझे इसलिए भी बहुत खुशी है, क्योंकि पिछली बार मैं खराब मौसम के कारण यहां तक नहीं पहुंच पाया था। मुझे बागडोगरा से ऑनलाइन ही आपसे जुड़ना पड़ा था। आपसे यहां आकर ना मिल पाने की वो कसक मेरे मन में बनी हुई थी। और जब भी प्रेम सिंह जी मिलते थे ना, तो मेरी आंखें झुक जाती थी कि आपने इतनी मेहनत की, मैं आ नहीं पाया, और इसलिए मैं इंतजार में था, वो इंतजार भी आज इस अवसर के माध्यम से पूरा हुआ है।

साथियों,

सिक्किम के लोगों से मिलना मुझे हमेशा एक अलग सुकून देता है। आपकी ये सौम्यता, आपकी ये सादगी, आपके चेहरों की मुस्कान अद्भुत है। यहां आने से पहले भी मैं सिक्किम के कई प्रतिभाशाली लोगों से मिला। सिक्किम के प्रबुद्ध लोग, पद्म सम्मान विजेता, आर्टिस्ट और फुटबॉलर्स उनसे अलग-अलग विषयों पर मेरी बात हुई।

साथियों,

कल शाम को जो रोड शो हुआ, मैं उसे भी अब तक भूल नहीं पाया हूं, और शायद कभी नहीं भूल पाऊंगा। हाथों में हमारा ये प्यारा तिरंगा। लगातार भारत माता का जयकारा, और वंदे मातरम का उद्घोष, पूरा वातावरण ‘एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत’ की तस्वीरों से रंगा हुआ था। गंजू लामा द्वार से लोकभवन के रास्ते तक, जिस तरह सिक्किम के मेरे भाई-बहन अपना प्यार देने उमड़े, जिस तरह सभी जातीय समुदायों ने स्वागत किया, हर समुदाय की अपनी वेशभूषा, अपना-अपना संगीत, अपनी-अपनी परंपराएं, पूरा माहौल ही एक बड़े महोत्सव में बदल गया था। ये दृश्य ऐसा था, जैसे प्रकृति की गोद में अलग-अलग रंग खिले हों। बड़ी संख्या में मेरी माताएं-बहनें, बच्चे और बुजुर्ग भी अपना आशीर्वाद देने आए थे। और जो एक सबसे अच्छी बात मुझे पूरे रास्ते भर दिखी, वो थी सिक्किम की सड़कों की स्वच्छता, आप सबको सैल्यूट। दूर-दूर तक कोई गंदगी नहीं, वायु में भी स्वच्छता, सड़कों पर भी स्वच्छता, सिक्किम के आप लोग प्रकृति के पक्के वाले संरक्षक हैं, ब्रैंड एंबेसेडर हैं। मैं फिर देशवासियों को कहता हूं, सिक्किम आइए। कितना साफ-सुथरा, स्वच्छ बनाए रखा है सिक्किम को।

भाइयों-बहनों,

कल रोड शो जो हुआ, और अभी इस आयोजन के लिए मैं आप सभी का और सभी कलाकारों का हृदय से बहुत-बहुत आभार प्रकट करता हूं, आपका अभिनंदन करता हूं। मैं सिक्किम के लोगों को, और सभी देशवासियों को 50 वर्ष की इस महत्वपूर्ण यात्रा के इस उत्सव की बहुत-बहुत बधाई देता हूं। मैं आपको विश्वास दिलाता हूं, आपके प्यार, आपका स्नेह, आपके आशीर्वाद का ये कर्ज, इसे चुकाने के लिए मैं कोई कोर-कसर बाकी नहीं छोडूंगा।

साथियों,

सिक्किम की यात्रा मानवीय मूल्यों की यात्रा है। ये विकास और विरासत को साथ लेकर चलने की यात्रा है। सिक्किम की अनेक पीढ़ियों ने इस यात्रा को आगे बढ़ाया है। गत् 50 वर्ष में जिन-जिन लोगों ने सिक्किम को आगे बढ़ाया है, यहां तक पहुंचाया है, उन सबको मैं आज हृदय से बहुत-बहुत बधाई देता हूं, उनका अभिनंदन करता हूं। जिस समय, जिसको जो करना था, उसने किया, उसने सिक्किम को दिया। अब, इसकी ज़िम्मेदारी हमारे पर है, हमारे ऊपर है। सिक्किम की सरकार, मेरे मित्र प्रेम सिंह जी के नेतृत्व में पूरी ईमानदारी से सिक्किम की विरासत को संजोने और विकास को गति देने का काम कर रही है। हमारे लिए सिक्किम, नॉर्थ ईस्ट केवल देश का एक अहम हिस्सा ही नहीं है, बल्कि ये भारत की ‘अष्ट लक्ष्मी’ हैं। नॉर्थ ईस्ट ये हिंदुस्तान की ‘अष्ट लक्ष्मी’ हैं। इसलिए, हम ‘एक्ट ईस्ट’ की पॉलिसी पर तो काम कर ही रहे हैं, हमने नॉर्थ ईस्ट के लिए ‘एक्ट फास्ट’ का संकल्प भी लिया है। और इसलिए ‘एक्ट ईस्ट’, ‘एक्ट फास्ट’। आज भी यहाँ हजारों करोड़ रुपए की 30 से ज्यादा परियोजनाओं का लोकार्पण और शिलान्यास हुआ है। इनमें रोड, पावर, टूरिज्म, हेल्थ, एजुकेशन, हर तरह के प्रोजेक्ट शामिल हैं। नॉर्थ सिक्किम के क्षेत्रों में 2023 के बाद जो चुनौतियां आईं, उन्हें भी ध्यान में रखा गया है। जहां-जहां कनेक्टिविटी प्रभावित हुई, वहां उसे फिर से मजबूत करने पर फोकस किया गया है। मैं इनके लिए सिक्किम के आप सभी लोगों को बहुत-बहुत बधाई देता हूं।

साथियों,

हमारे सिक्किम की बहुत बड़ी ताकत उसकी टूरिज़्म इकोनॉमी है। सिक्किम का क्षेत्रफल देश के कुल क्षेत्रफल का एक परसेंट से भी कम है, लेकिन देश की 25 परसेंट से ज्यादा फ्लोरल diversity हमारे सिक्किम में मिलती है। यहाँ पक्षियों की करीब 500 प्रजातियाँ, बटरफ़्लाइज़ की करीब 700 प्रजातियाँ, खूबसूरत फॉरेस्ट कवर, कंचनजंगा का अद्भुत आकर्षण, कितना कुछ है। इसलिए हर कोई बार-बार सिक्किम आना चाहता है।

साथियों,

सिक्किम के टूरिज्म से यहां बहुत बड़ी संख्या में लोगों की आय जुड़ी हुई है। और टूरिज्म तभी बढ़ता है, उस राज्य का इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर जब बढ़िया हो, तब बढ़ता है। इसीलिए हम सिक्किम की कनेक्टिविटी और यहां इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर पर सबसे ज्यादा फोकस कर रहे हैं। बीते वर्षों में यहाँ सैकड़ों किलोमीटर हाइवेज का निर्माण हुआ है। गाँव-गाँव तक सड़कों को पहुंचाने के लिए तेजी से काम चल रहा है। ऐसे आधुनिक इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर पहले जिनकी कल्पना भी नहीं होती थी, आज वो हकीकत बन रहे हैं। बागडोगरा से गंगटोक तक एक्सप्रेसवे का निर्माण हो, सेवोक-रंगपो रेल लाइन हो, ये प्रोजेक्ट सिक्किम को पूरे देश से जोड़ने का जरिया बन रहे हैं। यहां नए नेशनल हाईवेज, उसका निर्माण भी कराया जा रहा है। गंगटोक जैसे शहरों में रिंग रोड जैसी परियोजनाएं भविष्य के लिए जरूरी हैं। इस दिशा में भी काम आगे बढ़ रहा है।

भाइयों-बहनों,

बीजेपी सरकार जो काम आज कर रही है, वो पहले भी हो सकते थे, लेकिन काँग्रेस की सरकारों ने हमेशा सिक्किम के विकास को पीछे धकेला। सेवोक-रंगपो रेल लाइन का ही उदाहरण लीजिए, इस प्रोजेक्ट को 2008-2009 में मंजूरी मिली थी, लेकिन जमीन पर काम नहीं हुआ, कागज पर लटका रहा। परियोजना फाइलों में ही पड़ी रही। केंद्र में बीजेपी सरकार आने के बाद विकास को फिर से गति मिली है। पहली बार सिक्किम तक रेल पहुँचने जा रही है।

साथियों,

पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए हमें नए ideas की भी जरूरत होती है। आज हम इसी सोच के साथ काम कर रहे हैं। भालेढूंगा, येन-येंग और पेलिंग में रोपवे का निर्माण इसी का उदाहरण है। भालेढूंगा में स्काइवॉक का भी निर्माण कराया जा रहा है। और अब सिंहशोर Bridge पर ग्लास डेक स्काइवॉक भी बनाने की तैयारी है। नाथूला और नामली जैसी जगहों पर बार्डर एक्सपीरियंस को बेहतर बनाने का काम भी हो रहा है।

साथियों,

हमारी सरकार के इन प्रयासों से आपका जीवन आसान होगा, सिक्किम आने वाले पर्यटकों की संख्या और बढ़ेगी, और आपकी आमदनी में भी वृद्धि होगी। और मैं देशभर के टूरिस्टों को हमेशा आग्रह करता हूं। आप यात्रा के लिए जाएं, आप एडवेंचर टूरिज्म के लिए जाएं, आप एनवायरमेंट टूरिज्म के लिए जाएं, लेकिन जहां जाए, वहां जो लोकल उत्पाद होते हैं, आपकी यात्रा के बजट का 5% वहां से कुछ ना कुछ खरीदना कंपलसरी होना चाहिए। लोकल को वोकल बनाने का रास्ता यहीं से शुरू होता है। आप जहां जाए, वहीं का खाना खाएं, जहां जाए वहीं की चीजें खरीदें, Souvenir के तौर पर ले जाएं। ताकि यहां के लोगों को दूर-दूर पहाड़ों में रहने वाले छोटे-छोटे समूहों को ये जो इतनी बड़ी मात्रा में मेरी बहनें आई हैं, ये इतनी बढ़िया-बढ़िया चीजें बनाती हैं सेल्फ हेल्प ग्रुप में, वो खरीदने वाले लोग देश भर से आने चाहिए और इससे यहां रोजगार के अवसर भी बढ़ेंगे।

साथियों,

सिक्किम में इको-वेलनेस टूरिज़्म का भी बहुत स्कोप है, हम इसे भी प्रमोट कर रहे हैं। स्थानीय लोगों को टूरिज़्म से ज्यादा से ज्यादा आय हो, इसके लिए 1 हजार होमस्टे भी बिल्ड किए जा रहे हैं। Adventure टूरिज़्म के लिए भी इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर को सपोर्ट किया जा रहा है।

साथियों,

सिक्किम के लिए संभावनाओं का एक और आसमान स्पोर्ट्स में भी है, खेलकूद में भी है। यहाँ के युवाओं ने स्पोर्ट्स में अपनी क्षमता और प्रतिभा को बड़े-बड़े मंचों पर साबित किया है। फुटबाल, बॉक्सिंग, आर्चरी, इन खेलों में यहाँ से निकले खिलाड़ियों ने सिक्किम और देश का नाम रोशन किया है।

इन प्रतिभाओं को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए हम ‘खेलो इंडिया’ और ‘फिट इंडिया’ जैसे मूवमेंट चला रहे हैं। यहाँ की State Sports Academy को भी पुनर्जीवित किया गया है। सिक्किम प्रिमियर लीग जैसी sports events को बढ़ावा दिया जा रहा है, ताकि ज्यादा से ज्यादा संख्या में खिलाड़ियों को खेलने का मौका मिले, उनके खेलने में सुधार आए।

साथियों,

यहाँ जसलाल प्रधान जी के नाम पर state-of-the-art boxing academy का भी प्रस्ताव है। इंटीग्रेटेड स्पोर्ट्स और कल्चरल विलेज जैसे प्रोजेक्ट भी आगे बढ़ रहे हैं। इससे सिक्किम के युवाओं को बेहतर सुविधाएं मिलेंगी, और वे अपने खेल को और चमका भी पाएंगे।

साथियों,

आज जिन प्रोजेक्ट्स का लोकार्पण और शिलान्यास हुआ है, उनमें हेल्थ सेक्टर से जुड़े कई बड़े काम भी शामिल हैं। एक समय था, जब सिक्किम और नॉर्थ ईस्ट को कांग्रेस की सरकारों ने पूरी तरह नजर अंदाज कर रखा था। यहाँ स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं बहुत सीमित होती थीं। इस कारण से टूरिस्ट भी यहाँ आने में संकोच करते थे, लेकिन आज वो चुनौती भी खत्म हो रही है। आज सिक्किम में करीब 200 आयुष्मान आरोग्य मंदिर काम कर रहे हैं। आज यहाँ 4 डिस्ट्रिक्ट हॉस्पिटल्स हैं, Tertiary care हॉस्पिटल है, वेलनेस सेंटर्स हैं, यहाँ आयुष सुविधाओं का भी हजारों लोग लाभ ले रहे हैं। ड्रेजॉन्ग नामग्यल सोवा रिग्पा हॉस्पिटल के लोकार्पण के बाद सिक्किम के हेल्थकेयर सिस्टम को और बूस्ट मिलेगा।

भाइयों-बहनों,

हेल्थ इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर के साथ-साथ लोगों को सस्ता इलाज भी मिले, हमारी सरकार इसके लिए भी कमिटेड है। पहले हमने गरीबों को मुफ्त इलाज के लिए आयुष्मान कार्ड दिये थे। अब ये सुविधा 70 वर्ष और उससे ऊपर वाले उम्र के सभी बुजुर्गों को भी दी जा रही है। साथ ही, जन औषधि केन्द्रों पर दवाएं भी बेहद सस्ते दामों पर उपलब्ध हैं। इन प्रयासों से यहाँ के लोगों का जीवन तो आसान हुआ ही है, इलाज पर होने वाला आपका खर्च भी कम हो रहा है।

आज आर्थिक प्रगति और संसाधनों को लेकर विश्व का नज़रिया तेजी से बदल रहा है। आज दुनिया sustainable lifestyle की बात कर रही है। आज क्लीन एनर्जी पर दुनिया का फोकस है। आज organic फूड्स को प्राथमिकता दी जा रही है। मुझे खुशी है कि हमारा नॉर्थ ईस्ट और सिक्किम इस futuristic ग्रोथ का बड़ा केंद्र है। सिक्किम ने पूरे देश को दिशा दिखाई है। सिक्किम ने तो 10 साल पहले, 2016 में ही पूरे राज्य को organic state घोषित कर दिया था। हमारा डेमाजोंग अब केवल राइस उत्पादन के लिए नहीं जाना जाता, उसकी पहचान अब organic राइस के लिए होने लगी है। बड़ी इलायची, अदरक, हल्दी, एवोकाडो, कीवी, ऐसे कितने ही उत्पाद देश और दुनिया के बाजार तक पहुँच रहे हैं। सिक्किम में medicinal plants की भी सैकड़ों प्रजातियाँ पाई जाती हैं। ये भी स्थानीय लोगों की आय बढ़ाने का जरिया बन रही है।

साथियों,

Organic और प्राकृतिक खेती का सिक्किम का मॉडल, ये पूरे देश के लिए एक प्रेरणा है। सिक्किम की लाइफस्टाइल, सिक्किम के संकल्प, आज ये देश के विज़न का हिस्सा बन चुके हैं। यहां प्राकृतिक खेती को बढ़ावा देने अब ऑर्गेनिक प्रोसेसिंग प्लांट भी शुरू किये गए हैं। इससे किसानों को बाजार से सीधा जुड़ने का मौका मिल रहा है।

साथियों,

सिक्किम की आर्थिक प्रगति में एक बहुत बड़ी भूमिका यहाँ के सेल्फ हेल्प ग्रुप्स और इन महिलाओं की भी है। इन सेल्फ हेल्प ग्रुप्स के प्रॉडक्ट्स बड़े बाज़ारों तक पहुंचे, डिजिटल इंडिया इसमें एक बड़ी भूमिका निभा रहा है। “स्वयं सिक्किम” जैसे प्लेटफॉर्म आज इन महिलाओं को सशक्त बना रहे हैं।

साथियों,

क्लीन एनर्जी के क्षेत्र में सिक्किम की व्यापक क्षमता मौजूद है। यहाँ के पर्यावरण को भी संरक्षित रखते हुए, हमें सिक्किम के इस potential का और इस्तेमाल करना है। मैं जानता हूं, पर्यावरण संरक्षण, ये सिक्किम के लोगों का स्वभाव है। जब देश ने ‘एक पेड़ मां के नाम’ की पहल शुरू की थी, सिक्किम के लोगों ने कर्तव्य भाव से आगे बढ़ाया, और मुख्यमंत्री जी ने यहां के लोग को प्रेरणा देकर के “मेरो रुख मेरो संतति” पहल भी चला रहे हैं। इसके तहत हर शिशु के जन्म पर 108 पेड़ लगाए जाते हैं। मुझे लगता है ये पहल पूरी दुनिया के लिए एक प्रेरणा है। हमें पर्यावरण से जुड़े अपने प्रयासों को और निष्ठा से आगे बढ़ाना है। ये हमारी ऐसी विरासत है, जो हमें अगली पीढ़ी के लिए सुरक्षित रखना है।

साथियों,

सिक्किम और तेज गति से आगे बढ़े, विकसित भारत के सपने को गति दे, हमें इसके लिए मिलकर मेहनत करनी है। हमें सिक्किम को नई ऊंचाइयों पर लेकर जाना है। इसी संकल्प के साथ एक बार फिर, आप सभी को इस अवसर पर शुभकामनाएं देता हूं। आप सभी के उज्ज्वल भविष्य की कामना करता हूं। और आज 50 वर्ष की यात्रा अब हमें दो पड़ाव पूरे करने हैं। जब

सिक्किम की यात्रा के 100 साल होंगे तब क्या करेंगे? सिक्किम की यात्रा के 75 साल होंगे तब तक क्या करेंगे? और देश की आजादी के 100 साल होंगे, विकसित भारत का सपना जो है, 2047 उसके लिए आज से तैयारी शुरू कर करके संकल्प के साथ हम आगे बढ़े। इसी भावना के साथ फिर एक बार हृदय से मैं आप सबका बहुत-बहुत आभार व्यक्त करता हूं। बहुत-बहुत धन्यवाद। मेरे साथ बोलिए-
