Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed his first public meeting in his second term as Prime Minister in Guruvayur in Kerala today.

Speaking at the event, PM Modi applauded the people of Kerala for actively participating in the recently concluded General Elections while also thanking the entire nation for giving a strong mandate to the BJP government under his leadership for a second time.

Describing the BJP’s ethos towards the country, Prime Minister Modi asserted that the BJP karyakartas do not join politics to assume power and form governments, rather they consider politics as a way of serving their nation for their entire lifetime. He added, “While people elect ‘Jan Pratinidhis’ for a five year term, as a BJP karyakarta, we all are ‘Jan Sevaks’ who devote their entire lives to the cause of nation-building and serving the people. Our devoted cadre is what makes BJP a party different from the rest.”

Expressing complete support to the state government and the people of Kerala in regards to the recent resurfacing of Nipah virus cases in the state, PM Modi said that the central government will do everything it can to support the state government’s efforts in controlling the Nipah outbreak and ensuring people’s safety from it. He also assured the people of continued development for Kerala in various sectors like infrastructure, tourism, manufacturing and cultural heritage preservation.

Prime Minister announces ex-gratia from PMNRF for the victims of the mishap in Birbhum, West Bengal

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today expressed deep anguish over the loss of lives due to a fire tragedy in Birbhum, West Bengal.

The Prime Minister extended his condolences to those who have lost their loved ones and prayed for the early recovery of the injured. He added that the local administration is actively assisting those affected in the mishap.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister's Office shared:

"Anguished to hear about the loss of lives due to a fire tragedy in Birbhum, West Bengal. I extend my condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon. The local administration is assisting those affected in the mishap: PM @narendramodi"

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) of Rs. 2 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased, along with Rs. 50,000 for those injured in the mishap in Birbhum, West Bengal.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister's Office shared:

"In the wake of the mishap in Birbhum, West Bengal, PM @narendramodi has announced Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 for those injured."
