Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed his first public meeting in his second term as Prime Minister in Guruvayur in Kerala today.

Speaking at the event, PM Modi applauded the people of Kerala for actively participating in the recently concluded General Elections while also thanking the entire nation for giving a strong mandate to the BJP government under his leadership for a second time.

Describing the BJP’s ethos towards the country, Prime Minister Modi asserted that the BJP karyakartas do not join politics to assume power and form governments, rather they consider politics as a way of serving their nation for their entire lifetime. He added, “While people elect ‘Jan Pratinidhis’ for a five year term, as a BJP karyakarta, we all are ‘Jan Sevaks’ who devote their entire lives to the cause of nation-building and serving the people. Our devoted cadre is what makes BJP a party different from the rest.”

Expressing complete support to the state government and the people of Kerala in regards to the recent resurfacing of Nipah virus cases in the state, PM Modi said that the central government will do everything it can to support the state government’s efforts in controlling the Nipah outbreak and ensuring people’s safety from it. He also assured the people of continued development for Kerala in various sectors like infrastructure, tourism, manufacturing and cultural heritage preservation.
