The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the passing away of renowned Kannada writer Dr. Siddalingaiah.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, "Dr. Siddalingaiah will be remembered for his prolific writings, poetry and contributions towards social justice. Saddened by his passing away. My thoughts are with his family and many admirers in this hour of sadness. Om Shanti."

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, paid tributes to Acharya Vinoba Bhave on his Jayanti.

The Prime Minister said that Acharya Vinoba Bhave’s stirring call of ‘Jai Jagat’ transcended every boundary and placed humanity above all.

Shri Modi said that through his various efforts, Acharya Vinoba Bhave worked towards the welfare and empowerment of all.

The Prime Minister added that his unwavering faith in equality, dignity and service gave strength to the most marginalised.
