"You only belong to power and the chair. You do not belong to either a Hindu or Muslim. You are bothered about family not the nation: Shri Modi to Congress"
"I have not come to Kashi to seek votes but to connect with the people and understand their problems: Shri Modi"

An affirmation of the BJP’s focus on developing all sections of the society irrespective of class or caste, as opposed to the Congress’ falsity and ineptitude in ensuring the welfare of the people who voted it to power, were shared by Shri Narendra Modi during his address at the 3D Bharat Vijay rally, on the evening of 2nd May, 2014.

Shri Modi said that the Congress did not work for the Hindus or Muslims, and cited the Sattar Commiittee report, which had, few years back, exposed the false claims of the Congress and clearly affirmed that the empowerment and development of the minority committee was best done in Gujarat. “Sonia ji you want to keep India's Muslims poor and uneducated only because of your votes,” said Shri Modi. He also cited the Kundu Committee report which stated that the 15 point programme for the minority had been best implemented in Gujarat, and affirmed his vision of ensuring that every Muslim with a Quran in one hand, should also have a computer in the other. He confronted the Congress for their policies of ‘Divide India’ and asserted that his focus, instead, was on a ‘Digital India’.

Hitting back at the secularist stand that the Congress claims to have, Shri Modi spoke of how this stance was missing in Rajasthan during the Congress rule when many instances of violence were reported, even as he attacked their corrupt practices whereby in states like Rajasthan, many Congress ministers were lying in jail with corruption charges. You only belong to power and the chair. You do not belong to either a Hindu or Muslim. You are bothered about family not the nation,” said Shri Modi.

He also condemned the Central government’s indifferent approach towards its people by citing examples of misgovernance, like the misuse of funds allotted for the cleaning of Ganga or the lack of initiatives for the development of Kedarnath after the natural calamity.

Shri Modi also disapproved of the Congress’ blatant lies of working for the betterment of the poor by citing the figures which proved that amongst the top 5 states working for the poor not one was Congress-ruled. He also cited the Crime Against Women report which concluded that out of the top 10 states with the maximum atrocities on women, 7 states were Congress-ruled.

Shri Modi also recalled the bomb blasts during his rally in Patna on October 27, and stated how despite the chaos, people stood their ground and participated in the rally enthusiastically. He affirmed of his commitment to serve the people of Bihar and the Nation who had valiantly put their stance of supporting a party that truly promised development. He further criticized the Congress for seeking help from the unruly and causing disorderliness in Bihar. Bihar was just emerging out of jungle raj but for politics they have pushed Bihar again towards it,” said Shri Modi.

The lack of basic amenities like water, electricity and sanitation facilities was also spoken of by Shri Modi, who censured the Central government for their incompetence. He also sought the Congress’ accountability for the grave concerns of corruption, price rise, unemployment, poverty etc.

Condemning the instability caused by the 3rd Front, Shri Modi talked about how this has ruined the Nation. They keep saying 3rd front but these fronts have ruined the nation in the past. Unstable governments are not ideal,” said Shri Modi. He further stated how the Congress dreaded the thought of losing, and so, was only focusing on defaming Shri Modi and stopping him from becoming the Prime Minister.

Terming the Elections as the biggest festival of the democracy, Shri Modi stated how through successful use of technology he had addressed 900 3D rallies, and spoken to a vast section of people across the country. “Nation is one. We will not work for Hindus or Muslims, we will work for the people of India. I have not come to Kashi to seek votes but to connect with the people and understand their problems,” said Shri Modi. He urged the people to support the BJP and take the lead in forming a strong and stable government at the Centre.

Prime Minister urges MPs to vote in favour of Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam Amendment, Calls it Historic Opportunity
April 17, 2026

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has highlighted that a discussion is currently underway in Parliament on the amendment to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, noting that deliberations continued till 1 AM last night.

He stated that all misconceptions surrounding the amendment have been addressed with logical responses, and every concern raised by members has been resolved. The Prime Minister added that necessary information, wherever lacking, has also been provided to all members, ensuring that issues of opposition have been clarified.

Emphasising that the issue of women’s reservation has witnessed political debates for nearly four decades, the Prime Minister said that the time has now come to ensure that women, who constitute half of the country’s population, receive their rightful representation.

He observed that even after decades of independence, the low representation of women in the decision-making process is not appropriate and needs to be corrected.

The Prime Minister informed that voting in the Lok Sabha is expected shortly and urged all political parties to take a thoughtful and sensitive decision by voting in favour of the women’s reservation amendment.

Appealing on behalf of the women of the country, he urged all Members of Parliament to ensure that no action hurts the sentiments of Nari Shakti. He noted that crores of women are looking towards the Parliament, its intent, and its decisions.

The Prime Minister called upon MPs to reflect upon their families-mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives—and listen to their inner conscience while making the decision.

He described the amendment as a significant opportunity to serve and honour the women of the nation and urged members not to deprive them of new opportunities.

Expressing confidence, the Prime Minister said that if the amendment is passed unanimously, it will further strengthen Nari Shakti as well as the country’s democracy.

Calling it a historic moment, he urged all members to come together to create history by granting rightful representation to women, who form half of India’s population.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

"Parliament is discussing a historic legislation that paves the way for women’s reservation in legislative bodies. The discussions, which began yesterday, lasted till around 1 AM and have continued since the House proceedings began this morning.

The Government has addressed all apprehensions and misconceptions relating to the legislation with facts and logic. All concerns have been addressed and any gaps in information have also been filled.

For nearly four decades, this issue of women’s reservation in legislative bodies has been inordinately delayed. Now is the time to ensure that half of the nation’s population receives its rightful due in decision making. Even after so many decades of Independence, it is not right that women in India have such limited representation in this area.

In a short while from now, voting will take place in the Lok Sabha. I urge and appeal to all political parties to reflect carefully and take a sensitive decision by voting in favour of women’s reservation.

On behalf of our Nari Shakti, I also request all members not to do anything that may hurt the sentiments of women across India. Crores of women are watching us…our intent and our decisions. I once again request that everyone support the amendments to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.”

"I would like to appeal to all Members of Parliament…

Please reflect upon your conscience, remembering the women in your own families.

The legislation to ensure women’s reservation in legislative bodies is a significant opportunity to do justice to women of our nation.

Please do not deprive our Nari Shakti of new opportunities.

If this amendment is passed unanimously, it will further empower the women of our country and strengthen our democracy.

Let us come together today to create history.

Let us ensure that the women of India, who are half of the nation’s population, receive their rightful due.”
