On Sunday 30th March 2014 the NDA’s PM candidate Shri Narendra Modi addresses a large rallies in Amravati, Akola and Nanded in Maharashtra. Shri Modi urged the people to support the BJP-Shiv Sena- RPI and Shetkari Mahayuti and make Pujya Balasaheb Thackeray’s dream of a Congress and NCP free Maharashtra and India come true. He said, “The respected Balasaheb Thackeray is not here among us but he lives on in our hearts. It is upto us to fulfill his dream of a Maharashtra and India that is free from Congress and NCP.” Shri Modi said that the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections is a battle between good governance agenda of the NDA versus the misgovernance and corruption of the UPA.

Addressing a historic rally in Nanded, Shri Modi called upon the people of Nanded to defeat former Maharashtra Chief Minister, Shri Ashok Chavan. He came out all guns blazing against the former Maharashtra Chief Minister and the Congress leadership over the Adarsh scam, even questing the commitment of Congress VP Shri Rahul Gandhi to combat corruption. He reminded the Congress Vice President over his recent comments on investigation against Shri Ashok Chavan and questioned whether rewarding him with a ticket Congress’ definition of investigation. He described the giving of the ticket as shameless and commented on the very ‘Adarsh’ set of leaders the Congress has.

He went on to say that for him, Adarsh is not only about corruption and about giving one’s relatives flats but it symbolizes the disrespect the Congress has for the armed forces. Mincing no words, he said, “On this pure land of Guru Gobind Singh I assure the people that we will not spare those who looted the heroes of Kargil. We stand for clean politics and I assure you that we will put systems in place where corrupt belonging to each and every party have their cases disposed in one year. The guilty will be punished and those who were wrongly implicated will be relieved. I don’t care which party the leader will belong to.”

Not sparring Shri Ashok Chavan for the manner in which he ensured the withdrawal of sitting Nanded MP and his brother-in-law, Shri Modi commented that in our Indian culture we are taught to give our sisters as much as we can but here is a person who has taken away from his sister!

Shri Modi was extremely critical of the UPA misrule and their lack of compassion towards the suffering farmers. Referring to Congress Vice President Shri Rahul Gandhi, Shri Modi affirmed that he came to Vidarbha but all he spoke about was Gujarat. He reminded the Congress Vice President that these are not the Gujarat Elections and that it is him and his Party that must tell the people what they have done for the people of India in the last decade. Reacting to the Congress Vice President’s comment on bursting the balloon of Gujarat’s development, Shri Modi stated that he came to Gujarat in 2007 and 2012 but the people of Gujarat sided with the truth. Shri Modi reminded the Congress VP that the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation that has close links with his family has also lauded Gujarat’s development.

Equally critical of the lack of concern of Union Agriculture Minister Shri Sharad Pawar, the NDA’s PM candidate said, “The Agriculture Minister of India is from Maharashtra but he is unable to save farmers. He has time to talk about cricket but no time to talk about suffering farmers.”In Akola he took up the issue of the suffering of the cotton farmers and questioned the Agriculture Minister on the manner in which export ban of cotton export was placed. He added that while the UPA government bans cotton exports, it encourages mutton exports.

Shri Modi did not spare the rampant corruption and misgovernance by the Congress-NCP leaders both in the State and the Centre. He affirmed that Maharashtra is the same land that gave us Shivaji Maharaj, who is a torch bearer of good governance but today, leaders from the State are involved in Adarsh and CWG scams. Commenting on the LBT, imposed by the State Government he opined, “LBT is nothing but Looto Baato Tax. This tax is ruining the traders of Maharashtra.” He added that the leaders of the Congress are not aware of what poverty is and that explains their indifference towards the poor.

Shri Modi raised the all-important issue of black money and asked the people whether black money should return or not, to which the people said YES! He assured the people that the NDA government would bring back every Paisa of black money and use the money for the development of the poor. Commenting on the Congress' lack of commitment towards bringing back black money, Shri Modi pointed that they don't want to return black money as they are aware whom the money belongs to. Shri Modi questioned the Finance Minister on the unutilized Nirbhaya Fund and added that such insult showcases the Congress' lack of respect towards women.

Exposing the Congress and its allies, Shri Modi avowed that usually coalitions are formed to defeat the incumbent government but this time there are all sorts of efforts being made to prevent him from winning in the elections. “The reason is clear. Those who have looted the nation know where their place is after 16th May,” Shri Modi said, receiving a thunderous applause from the audience.

Extending GudiPadwa greetings to the people of Maharashtra, he urged the people to take a pledge to defeat the Congress-NCP and usher in an era of good governance.

Those present on the occasion included Amravati MP and Shiv Sena leader Shri Anandrao Adsul, senior Shiv Sena leader and MLA ShriSubhash Desai, Maharashtra BJP President Shri Devendra Fadnavis and other leaders of the Mahayuti. In Nanded, Shri Gopinath Munde expressed confidence that Mahayuti will win all seats in Maharashtra and that former Maharashtra CM Shri Ashok Chavan will be defeated. He assured a toll-Mukt Maharashtra and a state where interests of farmers are safeguarded.

By elevating Madurai Airport to international status, we are bringing the world to the doorstep of Madurai: PM’s announcement
I promise you that under the NDA, the women of Tamil Nadu will live without fear: PM Modi assures at Tiruchirappalli rally
In every situation, our government puts India First. Just as 140 crore Indians showed maturity during the COVID pandemic, I am confident we will navigate every challenge successfully: PM Modi in Tamil Nadu
In DMK rule, everything starts and ends with one family. Ministers may change, MLAs may change, but power remains with a single dynasty: PM Modi’s sharp criticism

At a massive public meeting in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Tiruchirappalli as a land of courage and faith, recalling the bravery of the Marudu Brothers and paying tribute to Major M. Saravanan for his sacrifice during the Kargil War. “Trichy is a land of courage and faith,” he said, adding that the Centre proudly honours Tamil Nadu’s culture and heritage. He also highlighted that C. P. Radhakrishnan, a son of the state, serves as the Vice President of India.

Speaking about his deep connection with the people of Tamil Nadu, PM Modi said that whether through rallies in the state, personal meetings across the country or programmes like the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, he has always made efforts to engage with the Tamil community. “Just like the river Kaveri flows with unstoppable force during Aadi Maasam, the desire for change in Tamil Nadu is also gaining huge momentum,” he said, asserting that people now want a government that works for every family, not just one.

Underlining major investments in Tamil Nadu’s development, PM Modi noted that his recent visits to Trichy and Madurai were linked with the launch of projects worth thousands of crores. He said the projects announced during the current visit alone are worth around ₹5,600 crore and cover sectors such as clean energy, manufacturing, highways, railways and rural roads. These investments, he added, will create thousands of employment opportunities for the youth.

Highlighting improvements in connectivity, the PM spoke about the modern terminal built at Trichy Airport and the decision to grant international status to Madurai Airport. “By elevating Madurai Airport to international status, we are bringing the world to the doorstep of Madurai,” he said. He added that this will boost tourism, pilgrimage and trade, noting that even products like the famous Madurai Malli flowers could now reach global markets within hours.

Launching a sharp attack on the ruling party, PM Modi accused the DMK of betraying the mandate given by the people in 2021. “In DMK rule, everything starts and ends with one family. Ministers may change, MLAs may change, but power remains with a single dynasty,” he said. He further alleged that corruption had become institutionalised, claiming that Tamil Nadu was being treated as an ‘ATM for one family’.

Raising concerns about farmers’ welfare, PM Modi stated the farmers of the Cauvery delta are the backbone of Tamil Nadu’s food security and deserve better infrastructure and fair prices. He accused the state government of failing to deliver on promises, such as building grain warehouses and increasing the MSP for paddy, while also expressing concern about illegal sand mining damaging rivers and the environment.

Highlighting women’s empowerment initiatives, PM Modi said the Union Government’s policies have significantly expanded financial inclusion and economic opportunities for women. He pointed to schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, noting that crores of women have benefited through bank accounts, entrepreneurial loans and home ownership.

The Prime Minister alleged that crimes against women had increased under the current government. “I promise you that under the NDA, the women of Tamil Nadu will live without fear. We will ensure strong law and order where criminals fear the law, not the people,” he said.

Addressing global developments, PM Modi spoke about the ongoing conflict in West Asia and its impact on global energy supply chains. He urged people not to panic and to rely only on verified information. “In every situation, our government puts India First. Just as 140 crore Indians showed maturity during the COVID pandemic, I am confident we will navigate every challenge successfully,” he said.

Concluding with a call for political change, the Prime Minister said the upcoming election presents a clear choice between corruption and dynasty politics on one side, and development and honest governance on the other. “Let your voice from Trichy echo across the state. Tamil Nadu wants change. Tamil Nadu wants NDA,” he said.
