Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the occasion of Janmashtami, offered prayers and swing the cradle of Balkrishna at Iskcon temple in Ahmedabad.

He said that message of Bhagavad Gita is inspirational even today for all from epoch-maker like Mahatma Gandhi to common man.

He said that new generation is into celebrating 'friendship day' under the influence of western culture, but Krishna and Sudama showed a piece of truest friendship to the world. Gujarat should initiate in celebrating the friendship of Krishna and Sudama to immortalize it, he suggested.

Chief Minister said it is a matter of pride for all Gujaratis that Krishna left the shore of Yamuna; chose the land of Dwarika in Gujarat and illustrated the way out of all problems to the world through his life.

President of Iskcon temple Shri Jasumati Nandandas greeted Chief Minister. MLA Shri Rakesh Shah and devotees in large number were present on the occasion.
