Hon'ble CM inaugrates second phase of Siemens Plant

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi has said, Gujarat has given top priority to Human Resource Development in its Long Term Development Design and that to set up a world class Human Resource Development Centre in the state, giant companies like SIEMENS should take initiative in this regard. Gujarat Government will extend all necessary support, he assured.

Shri. Narendra Modi inaugurated the second phase of German company SIEMENS' Steam Turbine and Compressor manufacturing factory in Vadodara on Tuesday .The factory will manufacture Steam Turbine up to 150 MW and compressors for the domestic and other emerging markets in the state. The company has invested Rs. 275 crore for the expansion of its second phase in Vadodara. Central Gujarat will be the hub of enery and engineering manufacturing sector in India, shri Modi said.

Gujarat will lead the country in the present century with its three pillar economic development, he said. Industrial sector, agriculture sector and service sector will contribute equally in this three pillar development, he added. Vibrant Gujarat Industrial Summit that started in 2003 AD has been recognized globally by the business and economic world and attracted most of the developed countries to invest in Gujarat, shri. Modi said.

Gujarat has rapidly turned into an industrial state from a trader's state despite non availability of raw materials. The state has achieved 9.6 percentage of growth in agriculture sector in the past decade while the country achieved merely 2 percent growth in this sector in the corresponding period, CM said.

Encouraged by Gujarat Government's industrial friendly policy SIEMENS Company has been planning to shift its wind turbine machinery from China to Gujarat.

The head of Oil and Gas Division in South Asia of SIEMENS Dr. Carsten Berendsen delivered welcome speech. Managing Director Dr. Armin Bruck appreciated Gujarat Government's industrial friendly approach and support. Parliamentary Secretary Yogesh patel, MLA Bhupendra Lakhawala, Collector Vijay Nehra, Municipal Commissioner M. K. Das and Police Chief Rakesh Asthana were present on the occasion.

PM to inaugurate 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth on 15th January

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) on 15th January 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan, Parliament House Complex, New Delhi. Prime Minister will also address the gathering on the occasion.

The Conference will be chaired by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla and will be attended by 61 Speakers and Presiding Officers of 42 Commonwealth countries and 4 semi-autonomous parliaments from different parts of the world.

The Conference will deliberate on a wide range of contemporary parliamentary issues, including the role of Speakers and Presiding Officers in maintaining strong democratic institutions, the use of artificial intelligence in parliamentary functioning, the impact of social media on Members of Parliament, innovative strategies to enhance public understanding of Parliament and citizen participation beyond voting, among others.
