On the afternoon of Monday 3rd December 2012 Shri Narendra Modi addressed massive public meetings in Viramgam (Ahmedabad district) and Chotila (Surendranagar district). Shri Modi pointed out that just like we would not give the keys of our house to any unknown person even if we were away for 15 days, we cant give our Gujarat to unknown people and that too for 5 years.

The Chief Minister recalled his strong association with Viramgam and recalled the days when he visited there while working in the Sangh. He spoke about the development in the region that has brought immense prosperity in the lives of people. He even pointed out that earlier there were many acts of disturbance in Viramgam but all that stopped once a strong Government came in Gandhinagar.

Shri Modi affirmed that the eyes of the entire nation and the entire world are on the Gujarat elections. “Give me your vote, I will give you a strong Government” Shri Modi declared, adding that all this development is to ensure that not only the present but also the future generations are happy.

Commented on the Congress, Shri Modi said that they want to win Gujarat but whom will they hand it over to? He stated that the people have the right to know who the CM will be. But, he added that the Congress has a hidden agenda, which is to make Mr. Ahmed Patel the Chief Minister. He pointed out that the Congress is being rejected in all parts of the nation and gave the example of the sitting Chief Minister’s son losing a by-election in Uttarakhand months after his father became the CM.

The Chief Minister stated that the Congress party cheats the people and its own workers. He asked why Mrs. Sonia Gandhi did not say a word on rising prices when she came to Rajkot. He also affirmed that Mrs. Gandhi may have changed her Disha by visiting Rajkot after Chhota Udepur in 2007 but the Durdasha of the Congress will continue. Shri Modi said that he does not want the cotton farmer of Gujarat to remain at the mercy of the Government in Delhi and that is why the Government has come up with the New Textile Policy, which will help the farmers, manufactures and will create jobs. He added that after agriculture, if there is any industry that generates maximum jobs it is textile industry.

Earlier today, the Gujarat BJP released the Sankalp Patra, its manifesto for the 2012 Gujarat Vidhan Sabha elections. Shri Modi termed it as a blueprint and a Manifesto that contains both a vision and action plan for the further development of Gujarat.
